Sustainability
Seed Library
The Gympie Regional Libraries Seed Library aims to grow community interest in gardening as well as empower our members with the knowledge on how to grow their own food and create their own sustainable gardens.
The Seed Library is free and open to anyone with a library membership. Similar to your usual library borrowing experience, a seed library allows our community to “borrow” seeds from the library to grow and enjoy at home.
Seed packets can be found at all Gympie Regional Libraries branches during opening hours. Take your new seeds home to grow by following the information on each packet. Gympie Regional Libraries also has a variety of gardening books and magazines available to assist you in creating your very own sustainable garden!
As part of our sustainability program, Gympie Regional Libraries host a series of educational workshops and talks to inspire, educate and grow social connections among those interested in gardening, food, and learning more about how to be sustainable in our day to day lives. Find out more on the Talks and Workshops page.
Home Energy and Water Efficiency Kit
Gympie Regional Libraries are supporting Gympie Region residents to collectively reduce their energy use, tackle climate change, and build a cleaner renewable energy future.
A kit is now available to residents to help reduce utility bills and cut household greenhouse gas emissions. The kit will identify where you can improve the efficiency of your home, helping you save money, make your home more comfortable and reduce your carbon emissions.
For more information please contact Gympie Library on 54810859.
