A kit is now available to residents to help reduce utility bills and cut household greenhouse gas emissions. The kit will identify where you can improve the efficiency of your home, helping you save money, make your home more comfortable and reduce your carbon emissions.

You will walk through the beautiful city centre, the narrow streets steeped in history, past stunning late Renaissance architecture, and learn about interesting historical figures like Galileo Galilei, Enrico Fermi and Count Ugolino. Sydney Writers’ Festival is an event for everyone –including those who can’t make it down to Carriageworks during the Festival.
From conversations with literary luminaries to panel discussions on our world’s most urgent issues, we don’t want you to miss an insightful comment or witty joke that comes from their stages.
This year, we are partnering with the Sydney Writers Festival to stream the sessions live for everyone. Watch along and send in questions directly to the Sydney stage and be a part of Sydney Writers’ Festival in 2025.

Shelley Burr grew up on Newcastle's beaches and her grandparents' property in Glenrowan, and on the road between the two. When not writing, Shelley is working to establish a small permaculture farm and is studying sustainable agriculture at the University of New England.
Her debut novel, Wake, was a Top Five bestseller, won the prestigious UK Crime Writers' Association's Debut Dagger Award in 2019, the Australian Book Industry's 2023 Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year and the Australian Crime Writers Association's 2023 Ned Kelly Award for best debut crime fiction. Wake was also shortlisted for the Indie Book Awards Debut Novel Award. Her second novel, Ripper, went straight to Number One on the Australian Fiction Bestseller list and was shortlisted for both the Sydney Crime Writers Festival's 2024 Danger Awards and the 2024 Ned Kelly Awards for Best Crime Fiction.

Gympie Regional Libraries SEED Library
he Gympie Regional Libraries Seed Library has been created to encourage and engage the community to create a more sustainable lifestyle. The Seed Library is free and open to anyone with a library membership. Similar to your usual library borrowing experience, a seed library allows our community to “borrow” seeds from the library to grow and enjoy at home. Grab one seed packet for every five books you borrow.
Seed packets can be found at all Gympie Regional Libraries branches during opening hours
Take your new seeds home to grow by following the information on each packet. Gympie Regional Libraries also has a variety of gardening books and magazines available to assist you in creating your very own garden to enjoy and inspire.
