Major League Baseball in Goodyear
The Cleveland Guardians joined the Cactus League in 2009 when they moved their Spring Training operations from Winter Haven, Florida to Goodyear, Arizona. When the Guardians came to Goodyear, it marked Cleveland’s return to Arizona and the Cactus League, where they trained from 1947 to 1992.
The Cincinnati Reds made the move to Goodyear from Sarasota, Florida. The Reds took possession of their new development complex in October 2009, and hosted their inaugural season in Goodyear in the spring of 2010.
