HIGHLIGHTS In the past 12 months, 32 new retail establishments opened in Goodyear and over 30 others are under construction or in the planning phase. Of these new businesses, six recently opened and nine under development have been highly requested by local residents on the Goodyear biennial Retail Survey.

MEDICAL & HEALTHCARE Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers The 28,634-square-foot facility broke ground at the northwest corner of 159th Avenue & McDowell Road in September 2022.

• Capital investment over $23 million | 52 full-time positions • Radiation & Medical Oncology, CT & PET diagnostic imaging, state of the art radiation, chemo & immunotherapy treatments, as well as Women’s oncology services.

SINGLE-FAMILY | PERMITS Single-family permits have averaged over 1,400 new homes per year to keep up with significant growth in Goodyear.

Civic Square at GSQ The four-story, 121,000-square-foot Goodyear City Hall, 24,000-square-foot Georgia T. Lord Library, Goodyear’s first ever parking garage and Civic Square Park were completed in July 2022. The area is a highly-desirable community gathering spot for events such as festivals, concerts, and parades – creating a true sense of community.

AVIATION & AEROSPACE United Aviate Academy (UAA) United, the only major U.S. airline to own a flight school, celebrated the graduation of United Aviate Academy’s inaugural class of pilots. The historic first graduating class included 51 students – marking the next step towards the airline’s goal to train 5,000 new pilots at the school by 2030.

HIGHER EDUCATION Franklin Pierce University Expansion (FPU) FPU embarked on its 60th Anniversary in 2022 and celebrated the expansion of both its building and programs in Goodyear.

• Ribbon cutting event held on February 25, 2022 added 3,467 square feet of space, totaling 18,208 square feet • Doctor of Physical Therapy hybrid model added • Master of Physician Assistant Studies hybrid program added GYR ELEVATES The economic development team coordinates programs and events assisting local Goodyear businesses with customized solutions to become more profitable, efficient, and competitive.

INNOVATIONHUB The InnovationHub offers FREE entrepreneurial and small business assistance, one-on-one mentoring, workshops, networking opportunities, and many other business resources. The HUB has relocated to GSQ in a beautiful new 1,200-square-foot space on the second floor in the new Georgia T. Lord Library.

INFRASTRUCTURE news Water – Sarival Water Reclamation Facility (SWRF) Liberty Utilities is building a new wastewater treatment facility at the southwest corner of Sarival Avenue & McDowell Road.

SWRF will provide additional reclaimed water to offset and conserve millions of gallons of potable water for human consumption and domestic purposes. The facility is scheduled to begin operations in 2024.

Street Improvements Six major street projects are in the development phase and planned to start construction in 2023 through 2025.

Transportation – WeRIDE Goodyear’s newest pilot ride share service, WeRIDE offers trips to and from fixed points within a 10-minute walk to all central Goodyear neighborhoods and stops at shopping centers, recreation facilities, businesses and community spaces.

Gen 1 at GSQ Globe Corporation completed the 103,629-square-foot Class A office building in July 2022. This type of upscale office product is limited in the West Valley and Globe currently has multiple companies in the leasing and development process. These best-in-class businesses will bring high-quality office jobs to Goodyear improving upon the city’s daytime population.

Restaurant Pads at GSQ Construction began on two of the four buildings comprised of restaurants and retail space ranging in size from approximately 5,800-13,500 square feet. The Stillery and a Breakfast-Brunch concept will occupy a part of the first two buildings, each totaling 13,000+ square feet with additional square footage for patios and a mezzanine.
