Guyana must ensure “clean up money” available before oil projects end ...country could foot bill if ExxonMobil walks away - Analyst

A fairer deal or NO RENEWAL! “There is a time in the affairs of men, which when taken at the flood leads on to fortune...” That was William Shakespeare, and this is such a time in Guyana’s affairs. Our leaders must not shrink, must not hesitate, nor retreat. President Ali, through the EPA, must lay down this country’s demands for what it

must get from the Liza-1 Permit Renewal. We are demanding. We are no longer content with crumbs from Exxon; therefore, we are not begging anymore. There is not a single international expert who has said that this lopsided deal is fair or beneficial to Guyana.

Vice President Jagdeo has himself said that the contract is lopsided and that “we have now to find ways and means to eke out more benefits.” The Liza-1 Permit renewal is such a godsend, the “ways and means” to get more for Guyana. This is non-negotiable. We m u s t g e t m o r e

financially, more environmental protection, better sharing of expenses and Exxon must pay taxes as locals do. Strike now! Strike powerfully. In situations such as these, is when leaders show what they are made of, how much they are for what is right, and for the people.

UK, USA and Canada just demanded more $$$ in royalties and taxes from their oil companies. What happen to Guyana? Goat bite we? Liza 1 Permit renewal can bring MORE $$$ without having to touch the lopsided oil Listen to The Glenn Lall Show contract. Let’s wait and see if the politicians love EM shareholders more than you and me. @11:00hrs on Kaieteur Radio 99.1/99.5FM
