got income? Most influencers don’t rely on a single income stream to earn money from their blog or social media account. Instead, they combine a few approaches to make a solid living. Influencers work incredibly hard to maximizing their earnings potential, ensuring their blog, Youtube channel, or social media accounts are of the highest quality in order to keep interest (and hopefully, income) high.

codes An influencer recommends a product or service and is financially compensated when someone makes a purchase using the influencer’s link. ads Influencers also have the ability to earn money passively through display advertising. Typically, bloggers sign up with a third-party provider network (Mediavine or AdThrive are popular with travel bloggers). Then, all they have to do is place the code in the right areas of the site, and the provider does the rest.

marketing & influencers Remember when marketers turned to big celebrities for product endorsements? Well, influencer marketing is the digital version of that, except celebrities in this case are social media users or bloggers with big followings. A business or a marketing company teams up with someone on social media to promote their business or product. The social media user or blogger is called an “influencer because they have a particularly big audience in a specific niche and have the power to sway decision-making. The influencer then collaborates with a company or marketing firm to promote a product on a specific social or specific online channel.

the effects of influencer culture

Dr. Tijion Esho, a British physician known for performing cosmetic procedures, coined the term Snapchat dysmorphia after becoming aware that an increasing number of patients were bringing heavilyedited selfies. Dysmorphic disorder, is a common affliction, affecting roughly equal distribution amongst both men & women. Potentially people come to plastic surgeons to look like the filtered version of themselves to achieve a look they saw of themselves via filter. information gathered from: https://www.physio-pedia.com/ thelexingtononline.com theguardian.com

social media & mental illness It’s unclear how much of a role social media plays in suicides, but a study earlier this year tied social media use with increased anxiety in young adults. For already vulnerable adolescents, technology can provide a forum for more trauma, worsening conflict or isolation. Further, having easy access to information on the internet about how to engage in self-harm can be dangerous for teens with mental health concerns. “The increases in suicide rates are unlikely to be due to any single factor,” said Dr. Thomas Simon, a suicide prevention expert at the CDC, adding
