GOODNESS: GOOD DEEDS BUILD YOUR CHARACTER AND YOUR BUSINESS

DOING WELL WHILE DOING GOOD. It’s a familiar mantra of purpose-driven companies that aim for the win-win of enjoying business success while making a positive impact. Integrating an overarching strategy like that is one way the best businesses imprint goodness in their DNA.

But what about plain ‘ole good deeds that are done in a consistent way? Can those have the same effect?

Sure they can. In fact, some of the most powerful acts of goodness are simple gestures that seek nothing in return. And when others see that kind of unselfish example, they’re often inspired to go out and do the same.

Leaders who are the best know that good deeds are good character builders, too. When the day is passing at a rapid clip, it’s not always easy to stop and meet the needs of someone else. But when you do, you’ll find the it’s-better-to-give-thanreceive adage to be time-and-time-again true.

And although it’s not the end goal, unselfish giving like that can end up giving your company’s reputation a boost—which is always helpful for the bottom line.
