Maintain Daily Balance: 3 Steps to Staying Focused
How many times a week do you lament “Man, I’m just busy.” The hustle and bustle of our lives demands intentional time when you will rest. Work and taking care of a household demands much of your attention but what about you? How are you going to take care of your deeper desires and the need for inspiration? Can you slow down to make time to rest? It is not easy to find the balance of the daily grind and time for relaxation or adventure. However, with intentional effort and a deeper understanding of how to relax and recharge, you can arrive at happy over and over. More importantly, you can find a deeper place of contentment and peace.

1.Relax into moments where you feel distressed and acknowledge those uncomfortable feelings instead of ignoring them. Write it out. Talk it out. No matter what, you need to get it out! Processing emotions is just that: Identifying and feeling all of your feelings and finding ways to acknowledge your own growth and healing. You can learn from your emotions what you value the most which can guide you towards what you find purposeful.
2. Set aside 15 min daily to check in with yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Eat good foods, move your body, and spend time in prayer, meditation, and/or deep breathing to find a place of rest. Create space in your life to give yourself what you need. Practices like yoga or a mindful walk in the park could be a great start.

3. Celebrate your wins and give yourself credit for everything! Count daily tangible goals as a “win.” These are simple things like making sure you turned on the coffee machine or that you made that therapy appointment you have been meaning to make. Set yourself up to experience a “win” every day. And at the end of the day, give yourself time to soak in the moments of feeling accomplished.
Mindset is everything! Balance in your life begins with the practice of having self-compassion and positive self-reflection. With the right mindset you will be balanced and poised for purpose!
