March 31, 2022: Deadline to Submit NBA Women Lawyers Division 50th Anniversary Impact Awards
Nominations are now open for the NBA Women Lawyers Division’s 50th Anniversary Impact Awards. Eligible women, men and organizations are encouraged to apply. The nominee’s impact must have occurred at some time during the past 50 years, 1972-2022. Award Recipients will be honored during the NBA Women Lawyers Division’s 50th Anniversary Honors & Achievement Awards Breakfast during the 98th NBA Annual Convention in Memphis, TN.
The Women Lawyers Division (WLD) of the National Bar Association was established in 1972 as a vehicle for women in the practice of law to address the issues and problems that particularly affect, interest, and concern African American women. The WLD recognizes the advancements of African American women lawyers during the past 50 years. These advancements could not have been achieved without the assistance and support of women, men and organizations. The NBA WLD 50th Anniversary Impact Award will recognize women, men, and organizations who have made a profound impact towards the advancement of African American women attorneys, African American women in general, and/or the communities that they serve through community mobilization and outreach, career progression, access to justice, legal education, support of diversity and inclusion, mentoring, or other notable trailblazing efforts during the past 50 years.
Why Submit A Nomination? Demonstrate how you or your organization have aided African American women attorneys, women in general and/or the African American community at any time during the past 50 years.
Criteria:
The Nominee’s impact must have occurred during the past 50 years (1972-2022) and be related to the advancement of African American women attorneys, women in general or the African American community through mobilization and outreach, access to justice, career advancement, legal education, support of diversity and inclusion, mentoring, or other notable trailblazing efforts; Individuals and organizations may nominate themselves or may be nominated by a third party; The award recipients must participate in marketing and communications efforts for the award, which may include filming a short video; and Selected winners must attend in person the NBA Women Lawyers Division 50th Anniversary Honors & Awards Breakfast on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in Memphis, Tennessee.
