GVR LIVE! SUMMER 2021

Private Tours Avail able

Welcome to the GVR Live! 2021 Summer Performing Arts Season We are very thankful for your support of the Arts & Entertainment GVR Live! program at Green Valley Recreation. This summer, members can look forward to two great developments:

First, GVR has retired its old software system for class registration and the new system allows for ONLINE TICKET SALES! ActiveNet, the new system, offers a user-friendly, familiar experience allowing members to purchase tickets online, to be held at will-call. Ticket pricing will also be simplified. There will be just two price tiers: member pricing and general public pricing. However, members will be able to purchase up to four tickets for guests, at the member price! Look for more information about ActiveNet on the Performing Arts page of gvrec.org.

The GVR Live! 2021-2022 Performing Arts Season Brochure will be available at the beginning of October. Watch for an announcement about our new and improved season ticket program!

Again, we sincerely thank you for supporting GVR Live! and invite you to enjoy the arts throughout all of Southern Arizona. Shelly Freeman, Senior Arts & Entertainment Supervisor

GVR LIVE! IN THE COMMUNITY GVR is proud to strengthen the community through arts education and outreach programs by promoting the arts well beyond our role as a presenting organization. Through outreach opportunities throughout the community, we hope to promote a greater appreciation for the arts and build a healthy and thriving arts community. One way we do this is by presenting live monthly performances to the residents of Silver Springs assisted living center, who may be unable to attend performances at GVR’s West Center. Since 2012, GVR has provided one hour performances for Silver Springs residents who are delighted to be able to experience top notch entertainment from the comfort and convenience of their residence. GVR also offers student discounts to all of our GVR Live! Performances. GVR is always seeking opportunities to collaborate with a variety of community organizations by hosting workshops and lectures that help enrich our community as a whole. We invite you to contact GVR about your interest in the arts. VOLUNTEER AND SHARE YOUR PASSION FOR THE ARTS! The GVR Live! Performing Arts Season brings an exciting array of live entertainers and performers to Southern Arizona. These performances entertain us, bring us together through our experience, and enrich our lives in the community! If you share our passion for the arts and are a current GVR member, we invite you to serve as an Arts & Entertainment Volunteer. Our volunteers assist us during performances by greeting and seating patrons, helping with merchandise and concession sales, and providing general assistance to guests. No experience is necessary, as we will train you; the only requirements are a willingness to learn and to ensure our guests have a pleasurable experience while attending GVR’s performances. Anyone interested in becoming an Arts & Entertainment Volunteer is invited to send an email stating your interest to: programs@gvrec.org.

Andy Hersey July 6 at 7pm Member/Guest Price $15 General Public $20

Andy Hersey is an Arizona based singer/songwriter who released his third full-length album, Tell Me All About It, in 2016 on Reposado Recordings. Songwriting has always been a part of Hersey’s life while working other trades: ranch hand, horseshoer, truck-driver, construction worker, and raising a family on Southern Arizona ranches. He now makes his living playing steady shows in Tucson area establishments and on a road trip now and then. His set of songs is acoustic based and eclectic. “Country rock, silly drinking songs, a love song or two, mix in a bit of broken Spanglish, and there you have it,” says Hersey. The goal is to have friends rather than fans and to make music a living without being in the music industry. Andy and his wife Holly now live in Southern Arizona.
