Special Interest GENERAL Almost Ethical Hardly a day goes by when we aren’t tempted to compromise. In the real world, busy schedules and conflicts of interest cause us to act in ways that clash with our true beliefs. We are almost ethical, but not quite. Ethical compromise, big or small, dulls our sense of where to draw the line. It instills a habit of distorted thinking and puts us at risk of losing control of our decisions. Worst of all, it creates barriers in our personal and professional relationships. We can restore clear thinking to prevent that damage. Come and discover practical ways to make more effective decisions every day. The Essentials for a Quality of Life Medical advances have increased our quantity of life and focus has now been toward understanding the quality of life (QOL). Even though QOL is subjective and multidimensional, there are numerous psychosocial markers which correlate with this experience. Cultivating Transformation NEW

George Feuerstein said, ‘if we believe in the rebirth of our civilization... then clearly this renaissance must begin in the chambers of our own hearts.’ Fundamentally, psycho-spiritual growth is about shifts in attitudes, priorities, motivations, and behaviors. It is about people’s conscious intention to deeply awaken to an integration between the outer and inner life. Cultivating life-enhancing self-transformation can be shaped through sacred or profane contexts- from the traffic jam to the diaper change or being in the presence of nature to practicing silence. The Making of Meaning NEW

What makes life meaningful, valuable, and purposeful? This 2 sessions class will look at the fundamentals of ‘meaningmaking’ as it relates to human experience in both short- and long-term conditions. We will discover how personally selected life themes can integrate all that seems chaotic toward a unified state of personhood and awareness. These life themes can bring what appear to be daily unrelated activities into an all-encompassing set of challenges that give purpose to everything a person engages. Registration Procedures Understanding Curiosity Curiosity represents one’s intrinsic desire for experience and knowledge. It involves the active recognition, pursuit, and regulation of one’s experience in response to challenging opportunities. Coupled with interest and openness to experience - variations in curiosity abound in terms of frequency, intensity, and duration of exploration. If curiosity can be cultivated, no one need ever search for interesting experiences - one will simply have them.
