The Glass Loft
Evening and daytime places are now available locally for you to learn glass techniques!
Now is a great opportunity to join one of my classes for a 10 week term in Brislington, as courses, especially evening courses, are usually booked out. More details and payment at https://www.theglassloft.co.uk/class Classes start week of April 29th.
Creative classes are a great way to learn new skills and techniques, feel inspired and always have a project on the go! My classes are friendly and informal, people work at all different levels and sometimes learn as much from each other as they do from me.
Student quotes:
Many thanks, Fiona, for your excellent teaching. I've really enjoyed learning from you and think you run a very clear and well organised class. Best wishes, Ron.

St Anne’s House after the demolition of the Mill
This is a dead honeybee. The pollen on her legs is from dandelions. Her tongue is sticking out due to what killed her that was on the dandelions.
It’s spring, dandelions are the bees first food. This bee is dead from weed killer spread on what we see as weeds, but what nature sees as food. Please don’t spray for weeds until you see the blackberries blooming. In this area, weeds, flowers and fruit trees are bees only source of food until middle of June. There are FAR more weeds than flowers or fruit trees, so it's their only food source. No bees, no food crops for us and we all starve.

People often ask where they can donate food locally - I am Member Pioneer for Co-op St Anne’s and Broomhill and we have food donation points in both stores. The one in Wyatts View goes to Family Action Food Clubs and the one in Broomhill goes to a food collection at Broomhill Juniors School. Any indate, sealed, nonperishable items gratefully received (no fridge/freezer items).
Thanks!
The Trussell Trust
We know the solution is for our social security system to be fit for purpose. More than 150,000 of us stood together and signed our petition calling for an Essentials Guarantee. Read about the day we handed it in.
We Have a donation box at the Broomhill co-op to help with donations
British Ukrainian Aid
Turning polluting vehicles into humanitarian aid for Ukraine
In an amazing project between Transport for London and British Ukrainian Aid, London high polluting vehicle owners who scrap their vehicles are entitled to a substantial payment. They can donate their vehicle (and their payment) to charity British Ukrainian Aid who will fill it with humanitarian aid – from medical kits to portable generators – and take the vehicle and the kit to Ukraine for life saving purposes
In Brislington we don’t live in the London Ultra Low Emission Zone, but we can donate to British Ukrainian Aid to fill the vehicles with life saving equipment

This Sunday with the bible
Every Sunday we have three short passages from the bible to reflect on. There's usually one from the Old Testament - the Jewish bible as well as Christian; one from the life of the early church after Jesus; and one from the gospel stories of Jesus' life.

Easter Day!
The Day of Resurrection!
The greatest day of the year and of all years past and future!
“We believe in the resurrection of the body” says our Credo, our formal statement of belief
And it comes from the hundreds of very well attested eye witnesses whose lives were profoundly changed by the experience – not to mention the billions since then

St Cuthbert’s church
Did you hold a special family event at St Cuthbert’s?
Were you married there, or your children christened - or maybe there was a family funeral?
Before we begin on some major changes to the inside of the building, we have prepared a 2025 calendar with pictures of the church in its original layout. Each month has a different picture showing the church through the seasons, with room for you to write your reminders and appointments. The calendars cost £6 and all the money raised will be used to help finance the building works.
The calendars will be available at our coffee morning on Easter Saturday or phone 07519 146241 and leave your details and we will get back to you.
