The Big Plastic Count is back from 11-17 March, and we’re really excited to let you know that registration is NOW OPEN!

Register now Here

In 2022, a quarter of a million people from households, schools, businesses and communities across the country made The Big Plastic Count the biggest ever investigation into UK household plastic waste. By counting your plastic waste for 1 week, you helped us to reveal a shocking truth: that the UK throws away 2 billion pieces of plastic every week, only 12% of which is recycled. In 2024, governments will be negotiating a Global Plastics Treaty that could finally phase out plastic production for good. And so, we’re doing The Big Plastic Count again - this time we’ll be using the results to convince UK ministers to lead the way at these talks and push for a really strong treaty. It’s a massive opportunity, but we have to act fast…and we need your help INVITE A SCHOOL TO TAKE PART We believe that young people have the power to help shape the future of the planet. That’s why we want to get as many schools to take part as possible! If you have any connections within the education community - maybe you are friends with a teacher, or perhaps you have a child who is currently in school we would greatly appreciate your support by helping us to spread the word. We have a dedicated schools page on our website where teachers can register their class, as well as find out about the educational resources that we offer, which you can find at the link below. It would be wonderful if you could share this with a teacher who might want to participate.

Racial Justice Sunday Here This year’s Racial Justice Sunday resources explore the movement of people from their homelands to the places they now call home and examine the motivations behind this movement – the journeys made, and the reception or welcome received on arrival. According to the latest figures from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), ‘At least 108.4 million people around the world have been forced to flee their homes. Among them are nearly 35.3 million refugees, around 41 per cent of whom are under the age of 18.’

This Sunday with the bible

Every Sunday we have three short passages from the bible to reflect on. There's usually one from the Old Testament - the Jewish bible as well as Christian; one from the life of the early church after Jesus; and one from the gospel stories of Jesus' life.

Living in Love and Faith The Living in Love and Faith course is being offered by St Luke’s church as its Lent course this year. It will be supported by an independent facilitator and will take place in St Luke’s church hall. Everyone is welcome, from Brislington churches and the wider community Meet at 7.15pm for Tea & Coffee. Start session 7.30pm prompt and finish 9.00pm Monday 19th February Tuesday 27th February Tuesday 5th March Tuesday 12th March Tuesday 19th March Church Parade, Brislington, Bristol BS4 4LS The Course aims to help Christians think more deeply about what it means to be human. It provides a structured and accessible way for local groups to engage in and reflect on Living in Love and Faith, a major exploration of Christian teaching and learning about identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage. The five sessions of the course each address a key question: * What does it mean to learn together as followers of Jesus Christ? * How does our identity in Christ relate to sex and gender? * What kinds of relationships does God call us to? * Where do our bodies and sex fit into all of this? * How do diversity and difference affect our life together as a church? Each session includes an opening reflection about learning together, followed by teaching, time for discussion and Bible study. Watch the Living in Love and Faith Course trailer
