Christmas tree collections Bristol Waste will be collecting Christmas trees from Monday 15 January on one day only.

You can also download the collection calendar for your property and look for the tree symbol to see what date we'll collect a tree from your property.

Put the tree out on the pavement at 6am on the day of collection, not before.

We only collect real trees, up to 2 metres (6ft) in height, with no decorations left on.

You must report any missed tree collections after 5pm on the day of the collection, or before 5pm the following working day. You can report a missed tree collection on our missed collection form.

Christmas Trees can be taken to the recycling centres for mulching.

You must book to visit the recycling centres.

Learn a new set of skills - I teach traditional leadwork, copper foiling (tiffany lamps) and fusing techniques.

Classes are small and friendly, and I support you in learning what you want to learn. I have been teaching for over 15 years and currently teach more than 80 students.

I have some Tuesday morning spaces available in a new class, based in my brand new premises in Brislington. Classes start next week.

How to take part 1. Get your free guide and stock up on supplies, with 15% off and free delivery on food and feeders at the RSPB shop.

2. Spend an hour watching the birds in your patch, between 26 and 28 January, and record the birds that land.

3. Tell us what you saw (even if that’s nothing at all)! You can submit your results online or by post.

I havean anexciting exciting update!

I have update!

As some of you know, the BS4 Good Gardens Awards was originally started by Ruth Drury, some 9 years ago, in a bid to make BS4 more aesthetically pleasing and more ecologically sustainable, and the response was incredible. I remember being so excited about the impact it would have on our community, and it really has been amazing to see!

From 2020, I had the huge honour of running the awards and can honestly say that it has been so rewarding. That said, the time has come for me to hand over the BS4 Good Gardens baton, and I'm very pleased to tell you that a very lovely person has stepped forward and offered to take over, to enable the show to go on. Lucy Sloss has generously offered her time, energy, skills and ideas, to continue this brilliant community scheme. I'm sure you will all welcome her to the role.

We practice WTF Taekwondo which is represented in the Olympics.

Class is taught by Instructor Matt Stein who trained under GrandMaster Fred Lee in the 1970's in London and Grand Master Dung LeVan from 1980-90's in Bristol.

Students from as young as 5 can start their training. The classes are mixed in terms of age and grade with adults training alongside children.

The five tenets of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-control and Indomitable Spirit are taught.

Classes for 2024 in term time only: TAEKWONDO classes for children in term time only and adults in Brislington.

5.45-6.45pm Thursday 25th January 2024 St Cuthbert's Church Hall.

Mixed class from age 5 upwards. All classes are free for first session then £8.50 per class.

No need to contact me prior to coming. Just turn up and join in.

These enchanting visitors will again be popping up in windows of local shops and cafés in St Anne’s, Brislington Village, Broomhill and Sandy Park Road over the festive period. Locals and shoppers can follow the trail for free, explore the wide choice of local retailers and discover a fun way to support our local shops and high streets this Winter.
