The Repair Café comes to Brislington every month, but are taking a break in December. But there are many other nearby locations to go to Check out Here Every November, it feels like we see more and more adverts encouraging us to empty our bank accounts to buy more and more stuff which leaves clouds of greenhouse gases and a trail of waste. So let's choose a different path. Here are our five top things the marketers don't want you to do: #1 Repair something! https://therestartproject.org/repair-options/ #2 Support your local repair shop https://creativemedia.org.uk/bristol-repair-cafes/ #3 Get informed emissions.https://therestartproject.org/podcast/cli mate-history/? #4 Take action https://repairreusedeclaration.uk/email-your-mp/ #5 Embrace pre-loved stuff So whether you're buying, selling or donating, think reuse first.

This Sunday with the bible
Every Sunday we have three short passages from the bible to reflect on. There's usually one from the Old Testament - the Jewish bible as well as Christian; one from the life of the early church after Jesus; and one from the gospel stories of Jesus' life. Have a read Here This Sunday we come to a great seasonal change, the change from a long series of Sundays after Trinity going right back to the early summer. Now we head towards Christmas, but before that we have four Sundays of Advent – meaning ‘Coming’ and it’s about preparation. Christmas is indeed coming as can be seen in the shops and we are beginning to prepare for it, but Advent Coming has a deeper sense of preparation – preparation for the time when we face judgement – and that’s what Jesus’ story in today’s gospel is all about – have a look if you dare!

The five Loaves & two Fishes Christmas appeal To be in church no later than 10 December please. “You give them something to eat” In the early 1990's four Sisters from our Community moved to Ashley Road and we have had a presence here ever since. As part of our lives of prayer and active service, Sisters began giving out small food parcels to about 12 people who came for food each week. However, this soon grew and for many years now is around 250-300 people a week in all types of need. Poverty in the UK is a disturbing reality we see every day. Hats, gloves, scarves and socks, for men and women Toiletry sets, for men AND women £15 Argos or One4all gift cards for children – or donations towards a card
