Objective

This project will use the broad topic of “Translation” to guide us and spur our conversations. We need to choose a language and get a poem in that language. We will study the structure and characteristics of this language and try a series of interesting explorations and try to get some patterns or symbols to establish a new connection, and produce the final deliverable.

Approach

Inspired by the Icelandic poem NORÐUR, I’ve crafted the Icelandic moss tea brand NORÐUR, intertwining the language and distinctive script of Iceland. By melding the Icelandic language with moss tea, NORÐUR embodies a profound fusion of culture, language, and product, forging a captivating connection within its brand identity.

Objective

The goal of this course is to create and manage identity and brand systems that are critical to the success of businesses, organizations, products, goods, and services. By focusing on the strategic planning, development and effective implementation of brand and identity assets, gain the ability to produce and sustain the visual elements critical to thriving in the dynamic landscape of today’s business world.

Approach

I researched different brands to find opportunities for rebranding and connecting with new audiences. I chose to focus on the SeaWorld.

I started by looking at its original characteristics and added new, valuable elements. Using these characteristics, I developed strategies to expand the brand beyond its current products. I also showed how to create brand guidelines, suitable visuals, and discover new brand opportunities.

Objective

The objective is to elevate my proficiency in typography by delving into more extensive typographic systems. I aspire to acquire the expertise to craft both linear and interactive narratives, ensuring they align seamlessly with a consistent brand design. Furthermore, I intend to nurture the versatility to design for a wide array of mediums and platforms, encompassing traditional print and cutting-edge technology solutions, thus expanding my creative horizons.

Approach

For the “InDesign + Type” conference materials, I aimed for a creative yet clear design. I started by understanding the conference theme and audience. Then, I made visually appealing materials, focusing on typography, layout, and overall look. My aim was to create a helpful and enjoyable visual guide for conference attendees.

Objective

The primary goal of this project is to develop a user-friendly interface through a holistic design approach. This process begins with in-depth user research to understand their needs and preferences, followed by building empathy with the users to truly grasp their perspective. Subsequently, we will create design solutions that align with the identified user requirements and rigorously test these designs to ensure their effectiveness and usability.

Approach

I designed an apartment rental app for international students by conducting user research, empathizing with their needs, creating prototypes, testing with users, and ensuring usability. My goal is to provide a user-friendly and effective solution to the rental challenges.

The overarching objective of this project was to harness the expertise of graphic design in order to craft a seamlessly integrated messaging campaign that spans various media channels. This endeavor sought to culminate in the creation and presentation of a multifaceted portfolio project of considerable complexity, serving as a tangible showcase of the participants’ adeptness in constructing a compelling and harmonious message that resonates across a spectrum of diverse platforms.

Approach

The project approach involves orchestrating a comprehensive cinematic experience for David Fincher’s film festival, encompassing the creation of visually compelling posters, meticulously curated programs, captivating ticketing solutions, exclusive access cards, enticing promotional swag, an engaging website, and a user-friendly mobile app. The approach will integrate creative design, seamless coordination, and strategic planning to ensure the seamless execution of this multifaceted event that celebrates the renowned director’s cinematic legacy.

Objective

The project objective is to enhance the company’s original annual report or social responsibility report by reconstructing and developing a linear narrative structure, implementing a non-linear interactive format, and ensuring a coordinated brand expression. This will contribute to the creation of a comprehensive layout system for the report, resulting in a more impactful and engaging presentation.

Approach

To achieve the objective of enhancing The Walt Disney Company’s CSR report, I will start by conducting a thorough analysis of the existing report’s content, structure, and brand expression. I will ensure that the report’s design aligns seamlessly with Disney’s brand identity. By integrating these elements into a larger layout system, we will create an enriched CSR report that resonates with a broader audience and effectively communicates Disney’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Objective

The objective of this project is to create compelling mobile design experiences that align with the evolving landscape of digital products. By focusing on research, persona development, and design strategies, this course aims to enable participants to define and create interactive design solutions that meet industry standards and resonate with contemporary audiences.

Approach

The project approach involves the development of a stress-relief app, combining white noise and natural sounds, aimed at providing users with a calming and immersive experience. The project encompasses the design of not only the mobile application itself but also a visually appealing and user-friendly app landing page.

Furthermore, a series of eye-catching social media advertisements will be crafted to effectively promote the app’s features and benefits, reaching the target audience and generating interest.

Objective

The project’s objective is to examine the symbiotic connection between graphic design and technical innovation in communicating ideas and crafting experiences across diverse digital platforms. It involves incorporating research, user-centered design principles, and an understanding of human behavior to create effective user interfaces for various media, including web and mobile devices.

Approach

This project involved a holistic approach to rebranding and redesigning TŌNO Coffee Project’s app and website. It began with redefining the brand identity to better connect with the target audience. The app was overhauled to improve user experience, functionality, and aesthetics, with a focus on feature of online ordering.
