When will the tulips bloom?
It depends on Mother Nature! Some years with a cold February and March, the tulips start to bloom about April 10. Other years with a warm February and March, the tulips have bloomed starting about March 25. “Normal” years the tulips start to bloom April 4.

We want to come and see the tulips in May … June… November … December … February. Are they in bloom?

The tulips grown in the Skagit Valley are a bulb crop that blooms only once a year. The festival happens in April because that is when the tulips usually bloom. You see tulips in the grocery stores because they are also raised in a greenhouse so you can get tulips year-round.
What is the address for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival?
There is not just one address! Our festival is based on the tulip crops of RoozenGaarde (350 acres) and four gorgeous gardens (RoozenGaarde, Tulip Town, Tulip Valley Farms, and Garden Rosalyn). Tulip Town and Garden Rosalyn are open only during the month of April
(as that is when the tulips bloom) while RoozenGaarde is a year-round garden that plants other blooming flowers for you to come and see during the summer.
In addition to the gardens, we have MANY events and activities, all spread out throughout our beautiful valley and happening throughout the month of April. If you are coming to visit, we highly suggest you start with our website, www.tulipfestival.org to begin planning your trip. You can also come to our office at 311 W Kincaid Street in downtown Mount Vernon to get a brochure and help from our volunteers.
Can I walk to the festival?
Our festival is unique – you get to see the tulips growing in a variety of displays and as crops. As a consequence, you will need to drive from garden to garden and will want to see the 100s of acres of tulips (remember, an acres is the size of a pro soccer field) in bloom. Each of these areas are miles apart AND you will want to find your favorites among our many events, held in our cities, again miles apart. The closest gardens to our

5 office are RoozenGaarde and Garden Rosalyn. They are over 3 miles away.

Where do I buy tickets?
Direct from the gardens. Information on ticketing is always available at www.tulipfestival.org.
When is the best time to come?
Anytime the tulips are in bloom! If you want to avoid the most crowded times, we suggest coming mid-week. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays tend to have fewer fans coming. With that said, the gardens encompass ACRES of land and there is lots of room for flower fans.
Is it raining?
People coming to the festival know the unpredictable nature of Pacific Northwest springtime weather and often call to see if it is raining in Skagit Valley. The festival goes on, rain or shine, for all 30 days of April. We suggest people come dressed in layers, prepared for rain, muddy fields or pathways, and possibly sunshine. Remember, 60° degrees is WARM for tulips and in April.
Welcome to Tulip Town “The Jewel of Skagit Valley”

It has been nearly four years since we purchased Tulip Town from the original founders, Dutch tulip farmer Tom DeGoede and his wife Jeannette. Though new to farming, we aren’t new to Skagit Valley nor to hard work! We’re all former Mount Vernon High School classmates that decided it was time to do our part in keeping up the fine tradition of family farms here in the Valley.
