When enslaved Africans were captured and brought to Guyana, they were not allowed to bring with them, their cultures, traditions and ways of life. What they did bring, however, was an unmatched level of bravery. Today, Guyana and all of its people celebrate that bravery and the resilience of the men and women who fought for Emancipation
