On Thursday, President Dr. Irfaan Ali commissioned the new 2,500-foot rigid concrete airstrip at Aishalton, Region Nine—another important step in connecting our hinterland communities. Delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Public Works’ Special Projects Unit and the Village Council, the project created jobs and skills training for more than 60 residents, and will significantly improve the movement of people, goods, and services. Plans are already in place for the construction of a modern terminal. The airstrip will improve access to healthcare, lower the cost of living, expand market opportunities, and unlock new avenues for economic growth.
