President David Granger on Wednesday met with Baroness Valerie Amos, now Director of the SOAS-University of London, former Leader of the House of Lords and representative to the United Nations (UN) and The Lord Alli, Waheed Alli, a member of the House of Lords and entrepreneur at State House. During the meeting, the two sides discussed, among other issues, Guyana’s ‘green’ development pathway and investment opportunities in the sugar, forestry, petroleum and ‘green’ energy sectors. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed that Minister of Business, Mr. Dominic Gaskin will travel to the United Kingdom to meet with potential investors and to expand on Guyana’s potential as an investment destination. The meeting was also attended by Minister of State, Mr. Joseph Harmon and Minister within the Ministry of the Presidency with responsibility for Public Affairs, Ms. Dawn Hastings-Williams.
