Retraction and apology On April 28, 2020, an article headlined “Who dem fi condemn Clairmont Mingo” appeared in the Guyana Chronicle and on our website. The article contained comments which were injurious to the reputation and character of prominent attorney, Selywn Peters. The Guyana National Newspapers Limited retracts the publication entirely and unreservedly apologises to Mr Peters for any embarrassment, distress, ridicule and torment the said article would have caused him and his family. At the time of the publication of the article, the Guyana National Newspapers Limited was under the control and management of officials from the APNU+AFC Government and Mr Peters and many other persons were unjustifiably attacked and victimised for their outstanding role in advocating for free and fair elections, democracy and adherence to the rule of law. Once again, the new management of the Guyana National Newspapers Limited unreservedly apologises to Mr Peters.
