Smaller incision. Less pain. Faster recovery.

“My first major surgery, a cholecystectomy, or gall bladder removal, was robotic-assisted and done at GMHC. I was a little nervous about it, but my surgeon Dr. Holzer assured me that I would feel so much better. My surgery team did a fantastic job! With the assistance of the robot, my incisions were very minimal, so I had less scarring and pain. I also had less recovery time, which was great being the active and working person that I am. It was so easy. I definitely recommend robotic-assisted surgery at GMHC.”

ROBOTIC-ASSISTED SURGERY is a form of minimally-invasive surgery that is performed through small incisions. During a robotic-assisted surgical procedure, our surgeon sits at a console while viewing a high-definition, 3D image of the patient’s target anatomy. The surgeon’s hand, wrist and finger movements made at the console are translated into precise, realtime movement of surgical instruments attached to three robotic arms. Robotic-assisted surgery allows Dr. Mansfield and Dr. Holzer to perform many types of complex procedures with more precision, flexibility and control than is possible with conventional techniques.
