Weight - Will you be walking or sitting? - Inertia guns are light weight, great for walking and point quickly. Gas operated shotguns are a little heavier but absorb more recoil.
Recoil - how much recoil do you mind feeling? A gas operated Beretta with Kick-off reduces recoil more than inertia especially noticable in a lay down blind or taking high-angle shots.
Action types - Inertia or Gas? Inertia is lightweight, easy to clean but recoils more than gas. Gas has less recoil and operates well on lighter loads and vertical shooting but requires more cleaning.
Country of manufacture - Italian shotguns are more expensive but most reliable with the longest warranties (10+ years on some models), are very well balanced in hand and have smooth operation.
Chamber - All semi shotguns we sell have 2-3/4” and 3” chambers however some models go to 3 1/2” for the big goose loads.

I was convinced to use the light full steel capable choke when I tried it for one season and I noticed the reduction of shots needed per bird and the added distance that I was able to shoot. One bird I couldn’t believe hitting. We paced it out at 80 metres, I would never have shot a bird at that distance or even tried with my other choke! Knowing this choke probably had the legs to make the distance gave me the confidence to attempt it. A light full choke is a really great way to increase your probability of a hit because you increase the density of the pattern on the bird, especially at distance.

What features should I consider?
Standard or Magnum Size?
Benefits: The larger body of a Magnum decoy can be spotted from further away, pulling ducks in over a wider area. Standard size decoys are a cheaper way to get a lot of decoys on your pond.
Look
Benefits: Much like a magnum decoy, a wide body is more visible than a regular size decoy, but is a little more compact than a magnum.

What types of decoys are there?
Floating Decoys
Benefits: Water is where game birds land, feed and sleep and its important to have waterproof floating decoys to give the impression that other birds have chosen your body of water as a great place to land
Standing Decoys
Benefits: As well as in water, gamebirds can be found in paddocks or on the waters edge. Standing decoys located in these places give confidence to passing birds that this is a safe place to land.
Motion Decoys
Benefits: the natural movement of flapping wings, feeding or swimming decoys grab the attention of game birds. Decoys that move are one of the greatest ways to entice birds to land
