I hope you are enjoying the summer and taking advantage of this special time of the year with family and friends. While summer months offer a welcome change of pace, we are already excited about the start of a new season at the Gulf Stream Golf Club, beginning with Opening Weekend in November.
Enclosed is GSGC’s traditional Summer Book. The book includes brief biographies of our new 2025-2026 Season Members and new Season Members for 2026-2027 as a courtesy to those who have not had the pleasure of meeting them. Please extend a warm welcome when the season begins.
The role of the Membership Committee is clear. We are responsible for recommending to the Board of Governors candidates we believe will protect and enhance the Club’s unique culture. We are confident the Seasonal Members included in the Summer Book are an excellent fit with our membership.

GUIDELINES
The following outlines Gulf Stream Golf Club’s membership guidelines for invitation. New members enrich our Club’s community and are essential to helping the Club maintain its unique culture that has existed for over 100 years.
Belonging to Gulf Stream Golf Club is a privilege. Becoming a member is not about a potential candidate’s financial capacity it is about fitting into our culture, which we are fortunate enough to have inherited and feel responsible to preserve.
The Club’s history was built on three pillars designed to provide a unique way of life for members. These pillars are the following:
• The making of new lifelong friends from different geographic areas that have similar life experiences and values.
• The enjoyment of a cheerful, harmonious community as members approach or enter retirement.
• The mixing comfortably with any Club members, while having a pleasant experience playing the game they love.
New members are the lifeblood of the Club. We rely on our members to propose candidates with whom they have a personal relationship. The main considerations for invitation are:
• Social fit: First and foremost, candidates should be gentlemen or ladies who understand and embrace the traditions of golf. They should possess a strong reputation in their communities. Candidates should be accomplished, understated, refined, and enjoyable company. Spouses must equally reflect and embrace the same values.
• Culture fit: Candidates should naturally fit in with the Club’s values. They should be friendly and enjoy meeting new friends. They should be respectful to other members and the Club’s staff. They should express a desire to participate in the Club’s daily life, including its many golf and nongolfing events.
• Golf: Candidates or spouses should be golfers. Golf participation is the essence of the Club.
• Geography: The richness of our Club derives from the broad geographical reach of its members. We take pride in the fact that people from different parts of the country become good friends during their time at the Club.
Candidates who meet these additional considerations will be given preference for membership. Please note that these are guidelines rather than strict rules, outstanding candidates may supersede any of these additional considerations:
• Age: Candidates nearing retirement or in retirement will be given preference. They will have more time to participate, in the life of the Club, helping sustain its culture.
• Business Relationship: Personal relationships are preferred to business relationships.
• Residency: Candidates who have made or are making a seasonal commitment to the Gulf Stream vicinity are preferred.
