Gulf Harbour Yacht Club

Gulf Harbour Yacht Club has a fantastic location to the south of the marina and welcomes new members whether boat owners or not. The club provides racing for yacht owners, and cruising events where both yacht and power boat owners can meet and enjoy socialising ashore.

Over the winter they offer a variety of speaker events ranging from boat maintenance to conservation, navigation, and weather interpretation. Social members are not forgotten, with participation invited at quiz nights, theme dinners, pub games evenings, occasional daytime excursions and more; these activities open to all members and guests.

The bar is open on Wednesday (summer only), Thursday and Friday evenings with great member bar prices, and the restaurant offers excellent value evening meals on Fridays. In winter the BBQ is fired up after racing and a number of BYO BBQ events are held throughout the year, taking advantage of the great views from the club deck area. The venue is also available for private functions.

For those wanting to learn to sail, the club offers learn to sail opportunities, and has supported a number of youth sailors to experience programmes such as Blake Inspire for Sailors on Steinlager 2, and 10-day Spirit of Adventure development voyages.

A portion of all members’ subscriptions goes to Auckland Yacht and Boating Association, who advocate for all local boaties and also to Yachting New Zealand member benefits packages. Every member is contributing towards helping all New Zealanders access, enjoy, and succeed on the water.
