BAYFRONT PARK This beautiful park, a popular spot for weddings and other events, features bay access, piers, a gazebo, a pavilion and a boardwalk connection to Village Point Preserve, with kayak and canoe access. 6200 Bayfront Drive at Mobile Bay; 251-626-5300.

BELROSE PARK This park has walking access to Mobile Bay, a picnic area and a sandy beach. 100 Belrose Avenue at Mobile Bay.

CENTENNIAL PARK This popular park offers a playground, a picnic area, a gazebo and restrooms. 1706 Main St. across from city hall.

DAPHNE CENTRAL PARK This park is built on a former golf course and includes paved sidewalk trails and a disc golf course. 28 Lake Shore Drive.

DAPHNE SPORTS COMPLEX 116-acre park which boasts 10 baseball/softball fields, concession stand, batting cages, restrooms and hiking trails. 7060 Park Drive.

DRYER BAY ACCESS Walking access to Mobile Bay with sandy beaches. Dryer Avenue at Mobile Bay.

ELIZABETH S. YELDING PARK Built in honor of former Mayor Bailey Yelding’s late wife, this small park features a fountain, an eternal flame and an oak tree, planted in memory of Mayor Yelding who passed away in January 2013. Corner of Guarisco Street and Manci Avenue.

GATOR BOARDWALK Also called D’Olive Boardwalk Park, this unique park features a state-of-the-art boardwalk over D’Olive Creek, which connects to the Eastern Shore Trail. The park includes a butterfly garden, and visitors have many opportunities for viewing a variety of wildlife, including alligators. North Main Street at D’Olive Creek.

JOE LOUIS PATRICK PARK This park has a playground and picnic area. 1401 Johnson Road, adjacent to the Ruff Wilson Youth Center.

JUBILEE COURTYARD Includes picnic areas and benches, a fountain and convenient access to the local dining and retail. On Main Street, near Daphne City Hall.

MAY DAY PARK This park has bay access, a playground, picnic tables, restrooms and a pier. College Avenue at Mobile Bay.

MCMILLIAN BLUFF Overlook deck and sandy beach access to Mobile Bay. McMillan Avenue at Mobile Bay.

PATRIOT’S POINT A quaint little park with educational signage and benches. Located at the Daphne Civic Center. 2603 US Hwy. 98.

S.B. WILLIAMS PARK This park is used by local Boy Scouts for ceremonies and other activities. 1206 Warren Drive.

VILLAGE POINT PARK PRESERVE As the largest park in Daphne, it features nature trails, gazebos, educational kiosks, picnic tables, connecting boardwalk to Bayfront Park, a pavilion with picnic tables, grills, restrooms, the historic D’Olive Cemetery and Jackson Oak, one of the largest and most historic trees in Alabama. 27717 Main St. DaphneAL.com. BARNWELL PARK Home to Fairhope Youth Football. 7754 U.S. Scenic Highway 98.

BOHEMIAN PARK An idyllic place of white sand beaches and gently flowing pristine waters at the upper reaches of Fish River. On summer weekends, the park becomes a festive spot for barbecues, sunbathing and cooling off in several deep swimming holes complete with rope swings. Swim at your own risk. County Road 48 a few miles east of Fairhope; dawn-dusk.

COLONY NATURE PARK Consisting of 40 acres with a grass trail leading through a variety of habitats, including wetlands. Twin Beech Road, east of Highway 98.

FAIRHOPE RECREATION CENTER

& MUNICIPAL SWIMMING POOL A membership-based community center that is home to a fitness room, spin room, two gyms, a racquetball court, indoor walking track, activity room, sauna, dressing facilities, nursery and offers a variety of fitness classes. The Fairhope Municipal Swimming Pool is adjacent to the Recreation Center. The facility features an indoor pool with eight lanes and two outdoor pools with toddler wading area. FAIRHOPER’S COMMUNITY PARK

A kid’s paradise with two towering corkscrew slides, rope climbing sphere, musical instrument-lined sidewalk, nautical themed equipment with traditional swings and monkey bars. Includes a 2,200 square foot splash pad.105 S. Church St.

FELS TODDLER PARK A small neighborhood park for children with playground equipment and one picnic table. Fels Avenue and Liberty Street.

FOUNDERS PARK, A 25-acre complex that includes five baseball/softball fields, eight soccer fields, concessions stands, and restrooms. 18862 Founders Drive.

HENRY GEORGE PARK, The site of Fairhope’s Fourth of July celebration and Baldwin Pops concerts. The Fairhope Veterans Memorial, honoring all veterans and their families, is located in the park and was dedicated in May 2013. Above the Municipal Pier; Fairhope and Magnolia Avenues.

JASMINE PARK, A three-acre park in a residential area with playground equipment suitable for small children. End of Jasmine Street.

KNOLL PARK, One of the highest elevations in the area is a wooded park featuring dozens of wildflower species that is being restored to a longleaf pine forest, with some existing pines more than 130 years old. Left in its natural state, this location is popular for birdwatchers. Fairhope and Magnolia Avenues.

MAGNOLIA BEACH PARK, Has live oaks draped in Spanish moss and a multi-use path favored by strollers, dog walkers and bench sitters. Dog bags and receptacles are available. Two short piers, a butterfly sanctuary and a boat launch also help make this a popular daily destination. South Mobile Street, between Laurel Avenue and Pier Street.

MARIETTA JOHNSON BOTANICAL

GARDEN AND TREE TRAIL, Named for Marietta Johnson, the famous educator who founded the School of Organic Education in 1907, this garden and tree trail is a joint project between the Coastal Alabama Community College, the Wisteria Garden Club and the Fairhope Tree Commission and is located on the college’s campus grounds in downtown Fairhope. 450 Fairhope Ave. MARY ANN NELSON BEACH, Public beach access, located on Mobile Bay. Parking is free and picnic tables are maintained by Mobile Bay Keeper. 10646 County Road 1.

MIKE FORD TENNIS CENTER AT FAIR-

HOPE STIMPSON PARK, Home to 12 lighted courts (six hydro courts and six hard courts), four pickleball courts, and an outdoor lighted walking track. The tennis facility is open for public play and tennis lessons are also available. Corner of Morphy Avenue and Mershon Street. MULLET POINT PARK, This seven-acre park includes walking trails, a handicapped accessible pier, picnic tables, restrooms, barbecue pits and a 24-hour boat launch. 13203 County Road 1.

MUNICIPAL PIER, ROSE GARDEN

AND FOUNTAIN, A favorite destination for residents and visitors since its initial construction, it has become a prime viewing spot for Mobile Bay sunsets. Destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the 1,448-foot pier was rebuilt and reopened in November 2006. Features include restrooms, benches, covered areas, a rose garden with water fountain, picnic tables, pavilion, duck pond, tree trail, a large sandy beach, a small marina and a restaurant. The pier draws people with fishing poles, cast nets, field glasses for birding and walking, at all hours. 4 N. Beach Road; Always open.

LANTA SPORTS COMPLEX, The city’s 50-acre sporting complex with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness center, disc golf course, seven baseball fields, five practice fields, youth football fields, football stadium, a gym, basketball and racquetball courts, picnic areas, playground, skate park and dog park. 701 Volanta Ave.

NICHOLS LANDING, Has a gravel drive leading to a bench with exceptional bay views. West end of Nichols Avenue and South Mobile Street.

NORTH BEACH PARK, Fairhope’s premier beach park for walkers, runners, beachgoers and picnickers. Also includes Beach Park Tree Trail, which contains almost 500 species of trees including the Alabama State Champion Swamp Tupelo and Hazel Alder. 4 N. Beach Road, north of the Municipal Pier.

SOUTH BEACH PARK, A short multiple-use cement loop trail along the shore, with benches and picnic tables among the trees. A small beach is found at the south end. South of the Municipal Pier.

UTOPIA PARK, Features a bronze statue of educator Marietta Johnson, a large seahorse sculpture by Bruce Larsen and John Rezner, and several benches perched along the bluff, overlooking South Beach Park. South Mobile Street.

VOLANTA BEACH PARK, A small park accessed by a long wooden staircase, with a trail through a wetland area, leading to a small beach. South end of North Mobile Street and Perdido Avenue.

WHITE AVENUE PARK, Has a paved area leading to a pier with deck. West end of White Avenue and South Mobile Street.

CEDAR STREET PARK, Has a large pavilion, picnic tables and children’s playground with swings, slides and carousel. North Cedar Street.

MUNICIPAL PARK, Has baseball fields, a half-mile walking trail, horseshoe court, pavilions and children’s playground. The Loxley Civic Center is located inside the park along with three covered pavilions. Municipal Park Drive.

OSCAR JOHNSON PARK, This picturesque park features a pavilion and covered bridge. It is an ideal setting for picnics, birthday parties, reunions and other gatherings. Highway 104.

SILVERHILL KIDS PARK, This park has a winding wooden castle, picnic areas and area specifically for toddler and swings. Available for rent. First Street and South Avenue, behind Edward Havel Park. Open until dusk.

PIONEER PARK Features a brick walking trail, shaded areas, a splash park and a covered gazebo. 105 NW 1st St.

l ROBERTSDALE

BALDWIN BROTHERS PARK, Consists of a shaded walkway pergola that was donated in memory of brothers Joe, George and Bill Baldwin, who established a lumber business at the site in 1915. 22494 Highway 59.

GARRETT PARK, Includes two horseshoe courts, a softball and a baseball field, multi-purpose fields for soccer and youth football, pavilion with picnic tables and grills and large children’s playground. GORDON COLEY MEMORIAL PARK, Honors men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. 22884 Highway 59

HONEY BEE PARK, The site of the annual Honey Bee Festival, which draws dozens of professional and amateur honey producers and their wares from the county and region, making this one sweet event each year. 22780 Highway 59.

MUNICIPAL PARK COMPLEX, Park includes the J.W. Clark Softball Complex and the Dr. Amos Garrett Baseball Complex, with four softball fields, two baseball fields, two concession buildings, two press boxes and restrooms. 45 acres on Pennsylvania and Palmer Streets.

ROBERTSDALE TENNIS COURTS, Four regulation size lighted tennis courts. Includes restroom facilities. Dawn to dusk daily. 18845 E. Silverhill Ave.
