About The Loudoun Senior Interest Network The Loudoun Senior Interest Network is a committee of the Loudoun Human Services Network which is comprised of Loudoun County departments as well as professionals, business people, community volunteers, and other members of the community who care about sharing information and increasing access to services impacting the quality of life for Loudoun County seniors.

To accomplish our mission LSIN holds monthly networking meetings for professionals serving seniors and an annual Senior Expo for seniors, families and professionals.

lOudOun cOunty AreA Agency On Aging The Loudoun County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is the central point of contact for seniors (55+) and their families. The mission of the Area Agency on Aging is to foster independence, healthy aging and improve the quality of life for older adults and their caregivers through comprehensive programs and services.

Programs and Services Offered by the AAA Adult Day Centers: provide licensed supportive social and therapeutic activities for participants with memory loss or physical limitations. Transportation is available on a limited basis. Centers are located in Ashburn, Leesburg and Purcellville.

Advisory Boards: leadership positions on one of ten AAA boards, such as the Commission on Aging (COA) which advises the County Board of Supervisors and the AAA. Caregiver Services: links caregivers to supportive community resources and offers educational seminars on multiple care giving topics.

Case Management Services: links eligible persons 60 years of age and older who are at risk of nursing facility placement with needed community services; advocates, monitors and provides supportive counseling.

Congregate Meal Lunch Programs at Senior Housing Sites: provides weekday lunches to housing site residents (Wingler House, William Watters House and Madison House Apartments). Congregate meals are also served at Senior Centers.

Disease Prevention and Health Promotion: provides information and education to help seniors improve or maintain health-related quality of life.

Fan Care: provides electric fans and air conditioners to income eligible seniors.

Home Delivered Meals: provides weekly noontime meals to homebound older adults.

Frozen meals may be available for those at nutritional risk.

Income Tax Assistance: provides tax preparation assistance for basic federal and Virginia income tax returns to low and moderate income Loudoun County residents.

Information and Assistance (Elder Resources Team): links older adults and their caregivers to supportive community services.

Northern Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman: provides information on long term care facilities in Northern Virginia, and advocates for recipients of long-term care services.

One on One Assistance Program: individual assistance for aging issues provided at each senior center by appointment.

Senior Activity Centers/Senior Centers: provides a network of social, educational, wellness, fitness, and other activities for independent seniors. Each center has its own calendar of events and offerings.

Senior Medicare Patrol: provides education to help beneficiaries identify, report, and prevent fraud and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid programs. SMP volunteers are available to speak to groups.

Senior Trips: provides day and overnight trips to exciting destinations for adults ages 55 and older.

Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance (VICAP): provides information and guidance related to Medicare health insurance and the Medicare prescription drug program.

Volunteer Services: places volunteers of all ages and backgrounds into challenging, rewarding, and interesting volunteer opportunities.
