Welcome to this celebration of excellence - an opportunity to recognize the individuals and organizations whose leadership, dedication, and vision help shape a stronger, more connected community. Tonight, we come together not only to honour achievement, but to reflect on the collective impact of the people and organizations who give their time, talent, and energy in service of others.
Among this year’s honourees is Lloyd Longfield, whose career reflects a deep and sustained commitment to public service and community building. As Member of Parliament for Guelph from 2015 to 2025 with the Liberal Party of Canada, he contributed to important national conversations through his work on committees spanning science and research, public accounts, industry, agriculture, and environmental sustainability.
His contributions extend beyond federal politics. Prior to his time in Parliament, Lloyd played a key role in supporting the local economy as President and CEO of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce, and helped foster innovation and entrepreneurship through the creation of Innovation Guelph. His long-standing involvement with organizations such as Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington, the YMCA, and United Way reflects a broader commitment to strengthening the social fabric of the community.
While we highlight these accomplishments, tonight’s celebration is ultimately about the shared values they represent—leadership, service, and a belief in the power of community. Each award recipient reminds us of what is possible when individuals step forward to make a difference.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, whose generous support has made this event possible. Your commitment to recognizing excellence and investing in our community is deeply appreciated. Thank you for joining us in celebrating excellence and the people and organizations who inspire it.
