LIVESTOCK ON FARM Why on farm? If your farm is located in a suitable area and has appropriate facilities then on farm could be for you. Keeping the animals in their familiar environment can be beneficial.
Equipment We have our own portable sale ring and handling equipment enabling us to organise a sale at your premises.
LIVESTOCK TIMELINE Step 1
Free marketing advice on farm with no obligation.
Step 2
On receiving instructions we return to the farm to collect information for the catalogue and discuss entries for the sale.
Step 3
Commence the advertising campaign through regularly used national local papers, social media, website and posters throughout Sedgemoor (aiming for a minimum of three weeks advertising.)
Step 4
We type the catalogue and supply you with a proof.
Step 5
Catalogues are printed in house (Approx. 10 days before the sale) and distributed to our mailing list of active farmers, potential purchasers and also posted online.
AT SEDGEMOOR
ON FARM
Step 6
The cattle are transported from the farm. Either the day before and/or morning of the sale.
Our head porter will be on farm with you to set up the ring, seating and pennage area.
Step 7
Cattle are washed at the market, lotted rested and fed and watered.

THINGS TO NOTE We are here to guide you through all of the process - things to remember include: Movement Restrictions: • 7 days post calving • Last 10% (28d) of pregnancy pre calving • Calves must be 7 days old All animals require a valid passport, two ear tags and free of notifiable diseases.
