CONGRATULATIONS GWEN TAYLOR: COURT ADMINISTRATOR

Congratulations to Gwen Taylor who has been promoted to Court Administrator for the 86th District Court! Gwen graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice She went on to earn a Masters in Public Administration at Grand Valley State University. Gwen began working for Grand Traverse County with the Sheriff’s Office in 2009 She then worked as a Family Advocate for the Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center for numerous years.

In 2017, Gwen returned to Grand Traverse County as a Probation Officer She was promoted to Office Manager in May 2021, and temporarily filled the role of Deputy Court Administrator in 2022. Please congratulate Gwen on this accomplishment

CONGRATULATIONS DRAIN COMMISSIONER: ANDY SMIITS

“Drain Commissioner, Andy Smits was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Michigan Association of County Drain Commissioners (MACDC). MACDC was established in 1899 and is the professional association for County Drain and Water Resources Commissioners MACDC is dedicated to protection of the health, safety, and welfare of Michigan’s citizens. Andy serves on the MACDC Legislative Affairs Committee and is the District Chair for the MACDC’s Northern District- including 23 Counties from the Mackinaw Bridge, south to M-55 ”

Micareer Quest At The Civic Center

Civic Center Park and Howe Arena hosted the MiCareerQuest Northwest event today This event brought 2,000 student from the region to learn firsthand about career and college options.
