(Revised 3/10/2014)

Welcome to the World of Girl Scout Program! Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida (aka. GSSEF) offers a wide variety of program opportunities throughout the year designed to supplement troop activities and provide girls with enriching experiences in Girl Scouting. Many of these offerings are made possible through collaborations with other organizations and agencies that believe in girl-focused programs. Our programs have been carefully developed to provide girls in each Girl Scout grade level a variety of choices and experiences that meet their interests. Through our programming, girls participate in activities that help girls develop their full potential and allow them to relate to others with increased understanding, skill, and respect. We believe that girls will develop the values to guide their actions and provide a foundation for sound decision making as well as contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills and cooperation with others. We encourage you to share these program opportunities with your girls and allow them some input on the selection of programs that interest them most! Helpful Tips: This supplement is provided for planning purposes – we encourage you to read it all first – before printing the pages. The details adults need to register and plan are provided in these descriptions. In order to plan successfully, make note of programs with differing fees for girls and adults. The description indicates when adult volunteers are required, when there is a fee for their registration and

when adults are free of charge. We also offer “family friendly” programs; this means the Girl Scout program can also accommodate nonmembers and siblings. Many GSSEF programs offer the ability to earn National GSUSA Badges, Petals, Leaves and Journey Awards. This information is included and often referred to as “Awards.” Awards are worn on the front of the uniform. Other programs offer the GSSEF participation patch; girls love to collect these. Patches are worn on the back of the uniform. We know the “Girl Scout Glossary” can become confusing, so we are here to help you! You may call or email the staff Program Registrar, Diana Mills, 954-513-3786 or program@gssef.org. Se Habla Espanol. Look for updates! As we move through our Girl Scout year together, we will post refreshed supplements for you to look ahead and keep on planning with your girls! We are scheduling 3 annual “issues” of the supplements for: (1) January – May, (2) June – August, and (3) September – December.

GSSEF Program Registration, Cancellation and Refund Practices: This procedure is designed to offer a clear and simple process for girls, troops, Leaders, Advisors and Parents. Should you have any questions about a program or this procedure, please contact our Program Registrar Diana Mills: 954-513-3786 or program@gssef.org. Leaders and Parents: You are required to refer to the GSUSA “Safety Activity Check Points” for specific guidelines regarding girl/adult ratios and transportation guidelines. These are your responsibilities. Girls must always be under the supervision of troop-appointed registered adults when attending any Girl Scout function or program with the required Travel Form or Permission Slips. All program registrants are required to be current GSUSA and GSSEF Girl Scout members, unless otherwise indicated in the individual program description.
