We would like to say “THANK YOU” to our family, friends and customers for taking the time and showing support for our program. Once again, we are very excited about our offering of bulls this year. The focus for our cow herd is fertility, maternal qualities, temperament, soundness and performance. We strive to raise cattle that calve easy, have the ability to grow, and the quality to sell. When talking to cattle producers about what they look for when doing their next herd sire or female purchase, the answer is usually pretty simple... PROFITABILITY! We believe we have those bulls here at Golden Sunset. If you are in the market for a new herd sire, let us discuss your cow herd and their needs. Whether it is a calving ease bull, power cow bull, or somewhere in between, we will help you find that bull to suit your specific needs.

Some things have changed this year for the sale. Allandale Angus and ourselves have decided to go our separate ways. We wish Wayne all the best and Thank You for your partnership in the previous years. My father, Murray, has decided to add some commercial females to the sale. He will sell packages of first calf heifer pairs. The heifers are Simm/Angus cross with calves off GSR bulls born Jan/Feb. Also, on offer will be packages of replacement heifers. Last but not least, we have changed locations. This year we will have the sale at our families shop North of Vermilion. All cattle will be moved there approximately 3 days before the sale for viewing.

Coffee is always on at the farm. We encourage everyone to stop by the farm and view the cattle at anytime prior to the sale. If you are interested in anything and can’t attend the sale, please let us or any of the sale staff know and we would be happy to assist you. We look forward to seeing you on March 25.

SALE DAY INFORMATION • SIGHT UNSEEN PURCHASES If you are unable to attend the sale and wish representation, please let any of the sale staff know and they will be happy to assist you. For sight unseen purchases we guarantee satisfaction upon delivery.

• DELIVERY Golden Sunset will rebate $150/lot OR if you live over 150km away, will rebate $1/loaded km/ lot if taken home within 7 days of sale. We will start delivery 1 week after sale to central points in Western Canada. Transport of bulls not taken on scheduled delivery runs will be the buyers responsibility. For bulls headed to the Eastern provinces, the transport cost will be the responsibility of the buyer. Rebate for bull purchases only.

• USA DELIVERY Golden Sunset will assist in arrangements for the cattle to be shipped to wherever you are in the US, at the buyers cost. All bulls sold to the USA will be charged an additional $250/bull to cover testing and border crossing cost. Payment for export cattle must be 50% prior to testing and the balance will be due prior to shipping.

• PAYMENT OPTIONS Payment is cash or cheque payable par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until settlement is made in full. Please call Kyle prior to the sale if you would like to make alternate arrangements.

• VIDEO ACTION This will be a video sale with no animals entering ring. All of the sale cattle will be available for viewing 3 days prior to sale at sale location or at the farm prior to that. View the catalog and videos of all animals online at: www.gs-ranch.ca • www.dlms.ca • RIGHT TO SEMEN Golden Sunset reserves the right to collect semen at Golden Sunsets expense and the buyer’s convenience. Any semen collected will be for Golden Sunsets in herd use only, unless specified in the terms of a sale lot.

• HOOF TRIMMING No feet have been trimmed on any of the sale bulls.

• BULL WARRANTY All bulls are guaranteed breeders. All bulls are semen tested and vet inspected, and under a full herd health program. The standard CAA guarantee applies. We do not warranty against injury or illness after the sale, and encourage the use of insurance for that purpose. If the bulls are left at the farm, insurance is recommended. Golden Sunset will have replacement bulls on hand to cover your breeding season should you have any issue with your bull. Under no circumstances shall Golden Sunset be responsible for more than the purchase price of the said animal.

• PURCHASER’S RISK Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. In an effort to protect the buyer’s interest, we strongly recommend insuring the bulls. An insurance agent will be available sale day.

• ANNOUNCEMENTS Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over what is printed in the catalog • LIABILITY The owners, their employees, sale staff, and representatives accept no responsibility for accidents or illnesses that may occur. Persons who attend, do so at their own risk.

RED BOX has been one of the most talked about Red Angus sires in the breed. He displays unmatched phenotypic quality and possesses many needed traits to inject into the Red Angus breed. His body, volume, fleshing ability, soundness, and style are simply hard to find.

Red Box calves have that “WOW” factor when you walk into the pen.

His calves generally have a higher BW but still calve easy. We have used him on select heifers and have had no trouble, but do recommend his son’s as cow bulls.

SUPREMO GUY’S calves have been our go-to calving ease bulls. Fourth year as well for Supremo Guy at Golden Sunset. Bull calves have averaged 77lbs over his life at the farm and this will be his last calf crop.

Sons by Supremo have been greatly accepted by our commercial customers, as well as a few purebred breeders too. The majority of his sons will work well on heifers.

They are dark red, good footed, and his daughters are dropping beautiful udders this calving season.

We have used him on heifers before but his BW tend to follow the cow side. Take a look at the BW of the sons on offer before putting on your heifers. Recommended for heifers with lower BW traits or cows.

MONOPOLY sons have topped the sale in the previous years. He has an average of 83lbs for BW on his bull calves at the farm in the past four years of breeding. He has produced progeny with good feet, loads of hair, and explosive growth. His daughters have nice, tight, square udders on them. This will be the last set of Monopoly calves to sell at Golden Sunset as we sold him to Leeuwenburgh Angus last year.

It is such a pleasure working with the Martin family of Golden Sunset Ranch and watching their program evolve.

Tucked back in the hills of Vermillion, it is a must-stop for Red Angus breeders looking for the next herd bull. The bulls at this year's sale are their best offering to date. The cow herd utilizes a customized mineral program that is balanced throughout the year, which supports proper bull calf development from a young age. The bull feeding program is built to maximize forage utilization and gut health; they are developed on grass with their moms and then moved onto a balanced TMR that promotes lean muscle. The bulls are challenged with a foraged based TMR to help them develop to their genetic potential. Organic minerals are used to ensure proper immune function and overall health. Golden Sunset Ranch uses a total nutrition program on their entire operation, ensuring optimal cattle performance. Welcome to the 4th Annual Golden Sunset Ranch Bull Sale.

What a year of changes, Covid, higher grain prices, despite the higher grain prices, even cattle prices are edging up. Even Donald Trump had to go. We too are part of the changes and are proud to join Kyle, Sarah and family at their bull sale.

Kyle and Sarah have a very excellent set of bulls this year as you will see on sale day. We are proud to part of the change by offering some elite cow-calf pairs and replacement heifers We will be offering 30 home raised first calvers with Jan/Feb born calves at side, sired entirely by GSR bulls. We will also be offering 30 replacement heifers.

30 Replacement Heifers

• All cows and replacement heifers are MJM Enterprises’ home raised and on a full herd health program. They will have had their pre-breeding shot within 1 month prior to sale. Bovi-shield Gold FP5-VL5, Blackleg + Somm, and Backline.

• All cows selling are 2 year olds with first calves at side. Calves are sired by Golden Sunset bulls.

All cows were vaccinate/boostered with Scour Bos 9 last fall. All calves have received First Defence Tri-Shield at birth. They will also receive Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot, Black leg + Somm, Backline, and Toltrazuril Pills within 1 month prior to sale.

• There will be 30 Pairs sorted in to groups of 5. Groups will be sorted for uniformity closer to sale date. Calves will be Jan/Feb born.

• There will be 30 replacement heifers sorted in groups of 5. Groups will be sorted for uniformity closer to sale date. All replacement heifers will be palpated.

• All cattle will be at sale location 3 days prior to sale date for viewing or prior to that at the farm.

All heifers and pairs must be picked-up and removed from sale location within 24hrs of sale.
