ABOUT GSP
I.
GSP was founded in 2004 The majority of GSPers are the FIRST in their families to attend college! 94% graduation rate (higher than the average rate for first-gen college students in the U.S!) 1,600+ GSP graduates We are able to achieve our goal of a more equitable college experience for first generation, low-income (FGLI) students by helping our students through our four key pillars: Advising & Mentorship, Community Building, Necessity Funding, and Advocacy.
MENTORSHIP

ALL first year students and new transfers are paired with an upperclass GSP peer mentor. Students also gain access to our alumni mentor program as rising sophomores. Having a mentor is beneficial for students to ask questions, seek advice, and create meaningful relationships! In addition to these mentorship programs, students can find other opportunities for informal mentorship via our Regional Network Program. GSP101 sessions are specifically tailored for first-year GSP students by GSP staff members & student leaders. These workshops help students learn more about GSP (including its resources) and sets you up with the knowledge and tangible skills to thrive throughout your time at Georgetown!
FINANCIAL RESOURCES

GSP offers additional grants to cover other expenses outside of your financial aid package! THE NECESSITY GRANT can cover costs like tutoring, medical bills, winter coats*, and travel home for some breaks* (*for first year students): anything you would consider an emergency need! THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT is available to upperclass students for post-graduate plans like employment expenses and educationally enriching opportunities (such as professional attire, transportation costs to interviews, standardized testing prep classes or books, and conferences). WHEN IN DOUBT, APPLY! Our Necessity Grant committee will review and make final determinations on applications!

GSP offers students a variety of tools for professional development such as: Workshops to navigate a wide range of topics, industry panels with alumni, and more! GSP Achieve Career Weekly E-Newsletter, which has exclusive internships, job opportunities, and career resources.

GSP staff offers ongoing, individual, and personalized support for students! We encourage students to connect with us via email (gsphoyas@georgetown.edu), social media (@gsphoyas), or stop by our office (Leavey 433) to chat with our amazing staff and student workers! Aside from this, GSP normally hosts students for community dinners to build community, foster sense of belonging, and a create a welcoming space to chat with student leaders and staff. We are here for YOU!

CAPS (Counseling and Psychiatric Services) counseling appointments are FREE to all GSP students!!! GSP also covers any unexpected costs related to mental health expenses via the Necessity Fund. For more info on the services Georgetown has to offer, you can visit the CAPS Webpage here!

LEAVEY CENTER RESOURCES
IMPORTANT CAMPUS RESOURCES
Many helpful campus resource offices are located in the Leavey Center! Here is a brief overview of some of the resource offices and their locations: CENTER FOR MULTICULTURAL EQUITY & ACCESS (CMEA) | 5TH FLOOR CMEA serves students of color through mentoring, multicultural programming diversity education, and academic support. OFFICE OF STUDENT EQUITY & INCLUSION (OSEI) | 5TH FLOOR OSEI provides academic and social support in student development. THE WOMEN'S CENTER | 3RD FLOOR The Women's Center offers a diverse selection of educational programs, volunteer opportunities, services, and plenty of resources. LGBTQ RESOURCE CENTER | 3RD FLOOR The LGBTQ Resource Center serves lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning individuals on campus! ACADEMIC RESOURCE CENTER (ARC) | 3RD FLOOR The ARC provides academic resources, accommodations, and tutoring services to students and faculty on campus.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES UNDOCUHOYAS Georgetown created a website devoted to providing information about resources and guidance to undocumented students. For more information, you can go to the Undocumented Student Resources page or email undocuhoyas@georgetown.edu HEALTH EDUCATION SERVICES (HES) HES offers consultation, networking, and advocacy for primary prevention, risk reduction, and health promotion. TITLE IX OFFICE The Title IX Office provides resource for students, faculty, and staff on issues relating to sexual misconduct, discrimination based on sex, and discrimination based on pregnancy, including options for getting immediate help CAMPUS MINISTRY Campus Ministry equips students to lead lives of deeper meaning, belonging and purpose. You can speak with people from all walks of faith! Pro Tip: Be sure to reach out to your mentors, peer advisors, academic deans, chaplains, and others in your support system!

GEORGETOWN ID STARTER KIT
GOCARD 101 GoCards are Georgetown University ID Cards that provide access to residence halls, Leo's Dining Hall, libraries, laundry rooms, and several campus buildings! All** undergraduate students can now have a virtual GoCard to Apple Wallet or Google Pay. **Students at the School of Medicine, School of Nursing and Health Studies, and Biomedical Graduate Education receive a physical GOCard. More info on how to set up your GoCard Mobile Student ID can be found here. You can load your GoCard with money (Flex and Debit Dollars) Flex dollars are include in meal plans and can be used at the dining hall and/or all campus eateries. Debit dollars can be manually added and can also be used at the same places your Flex Dollars are accepted, and are used for laundry and printing costs. You can load your GoCard with money in the following ways: The GoCard Website >> Add Money Tab Load money on the "eAccounts" App (much faster!) Visit the GoCard Deposit Stations (here's the map of where the stations are located). NETID Your NetID is your universal ID & password to log into EVERYTHING @ Georgetown (including email, class registration, housing, and more!) A NetID is 2-3 letters followed by 2-4 numbers. (i.e. XYZ12). If you have any issues, contact the University Information Systems (UIS) Office @ 202-687-4949. Enroll in Georgetown Duo: Duo is the app for two-factor authentication for your login across all GU websites for security. You will be notified that you MUST enroll in this service upon receiving your NetID. To visit the website that takes you through the enrollment steps, click here.
