ELDERS AND DEACONS CALLED TO SERVE We are called by the Spirit to glorify God, so that all may become joyful disciples of Jesus Christ.
ELDERS The Nominating Committee has chosen the following members to serve as Elders for the Class of 2023.
SUSAN ASHBEE (photo while on mission on the Henry Nile River in Uganda) Susan has served on GSPC’s Session and Diaconate, and on Christian Education and World Missions committees, as well as a Sunday School teacher. She is a pediatric physician involved in foreign medical missions to Haiti, Peru, and East Africa.

ELDERS
CASI CALLAWAY Casi (pronounced kc or Casey) grew up in Mobile, Alabama, graduated from Emory University and moved to DC where she organized and lobbied on environmental legislation at the local, state and federal level. She is the Executive Director and Baykeeper for Mobile Baykeeper, a Board Member of Waterkeeper Alliance, Chair of the Waterkeeper Council and liaison to the international organization’s Board of Trustees. She is currently serving on the Visioning Division and facilitating the Future Focus Group building the next strategic plan for the Presbytery of South Alabama. She lives in the Mobile Bay area with her husband, Jarrett, and way too smart nearly teen-aged son, Coleman.

LISA DESHAZO Lisa deShazo has been a member of GSPC for 33 years! She is a retired Masters level social worker, having worked for the Department of Human Resources for 31 years. She has coordinated the Meals on Wheels program for the past 9 years, and is a member of the choir and handbell choir.

HENRY MORRISSETTE Henry is a lawyer with Hand Arendall Harrison Sale. Henry and his wife, Beth, live in Oakleigh. They are the proud parents of Elizabeth and Henry, who are seventh generation members of GSPC. Henry and Beth appreciate the love and support GSPC members provide each other and the community.

JOHN MOSES John was raised in Ashland, Virginia, twenty miles north of Richmond. He graduated from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg in 1970 and entered the U.S. Navy as a line officer (i.e. ship driver) serving three years. He met his wife, Marilyn, while attending the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. John worked for Citibank of New York for five years in Manila and Hong Kong before coming to Mobile in 1982 to manage Bay Chevrolet for thirty-six years. He retired in December, 2018. John has served as the GSPC Treasurer and as a member of the Christian Education and Property Committees. He has been a VBS helper for many years.

BO PERRY Bo has been a member of GSPC since 1975. He is a private practice attorney and has served on boards of several arts and social services organizations. He is married to Mary Elizabeth Perry and has three adult sons. He enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking and biking. He is an ordained elder, a Bible study teacher, member of Presbytery committees, and has served on a Synod committee.

DEACONS The Nominating Committee has chosen the following members to serve as Deacons for the Class of 2023.
DAMON BOONE Damon and his family are active members of GSPC. He works for OneSource Health and Safety enforcing OSHA rules and regulations at contractor job sites in industrial plants. He has previously served as a deacon and on the Baytreat and Property Committees. In his free time, he and his wife, Elizabeth, enjoy watching their two sons, Jackson and Mac, play sports.

JANE HALE Jane has been a member of GSPC since 2006 and has been an active leader with women’s circle groups, PYC, Sunday School (teacher), and has previously served on the Diaconate. She works part-time at Providence Hospital as a physical therapist. Jane is married to Carter Hale. They have three children: Carter, Jr., Emerson. and Lillian Grace.

ASHLEY SAUER OSWALT Ashley has been a member of GSPC since 2013. She and her husband, Guy, have three children. Ashley has served in the Christian Education areas of nursery, Sunday School, and Wee Worship.

HARRIS OSWALT, JR. Harris has been a member of GSPC his whole life and now enjoys GSPC and its rich history with his wife, Hunter, and their three children. Harris is a mechanical engineer at Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in downtown Mobile. He has previously served GSPC as a member of the Membership and Evangelism Committee, IHN meal host, and a member of the PNC for Rebekah.

DEACONS
LEIGH SCHOTTGEN Leigh was baptized and raised at Government Street Presbyterian Church. Throughout the years, she has volunteered with Vacation Bible School and in the nursery. Her two children, Jeanie and Frank, both live and work in Mobile. Leigh works at St. Paul’s Episcopal School and enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.

LEANNE CATRETT TAMBLYN LeAnne grew up in the Stockton United Methodist Church and married into GSPC in 1986. She and her husband, James, are parents to three daughters, one son-in-law, and two grandchildren. For the past three years, LeAnne has served on the Christian Education committee.
