Called to Serve

NOVEMBER | 2018

300 GOVERNMENT STREET | MOBILE, ALABAMA 36602 | 251.432.1749 | GSPCMOBILE.ORG

Our 2019 Stewardship Campaign is designed to build upon the legacy of Government Street Presbyterian Church. The elders of GSPC constantly review our momentum and the resources necessary to keep us moving forward. We are counting on you to take us into the New Year and beyond, ever growing our generosity and stewardship and our God-given abilities to serve God and one another. Consider Stewardship similar to that of bridge building. A bridge is a structure that is built to span physical obstacles for the purpose of providing safe passage. Stewardship and the giving of one’s talents and monies is how we overcome obstacles that prevent us from gathering together as a church community and from doing God’s work in the world. Bridges are classified by how the four forces of tension, compression, bending, and shear are distributed throughout the structure. We, the church, are called to stand firm in our faith, no matter the forces that try to distract us from our mission. We’re called to serve, to build bridges from today’s church towards the future church:  from suffering into joy  from despair into gratitude  from loneliness into fellowship  from sickness into health  from the present into the eternal There’s a great cost to the church universal if we do not proclaim God’s word and if we do not go out and serve. Please pledge generously for 2019 as a bridge builder to refresh those needing God’s care.
