REV. EUGENIA A. GAMBLE Eugenia is a PC(USA) pastor, now retired after 35 years active service. She served pastorates in Alabama, Colorado and California. She has served the church at every governing body level in both staff and elected positions. She is an award winning author, speaker, preacher, and retreat leader who loves nothing more than helping the Bible come alive for people. With the assistance of PW Birthday Offering, and an amazing team of leaders from First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama, Eugenia was a founding pastor of First Light, Inc. a center for homeless women and children. More recently she served as founding pastor for Living Word Santa Maria, a ministry with and for indigenous women and children. While pastor of Nipomo Community Presbyterian Church on the California Central Coast, she was also mentoring pastor of Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church new church development. She was awarded the Woman of Distinction Award by Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, University of Alabama, Birmingham, and the city of Birmingham. Her articles, essays, and short stories have appeared in numerous publications. She is the author of the 2019-20 denomination wide Bible study for Presbyterian Women, Love Carved in Stone: A Fresh Look at the Ten Commandments, and was on the Committee of Fifteen to work on A Brief Statement of Faith for the PC(USA) included now in the Book of Confessions. Upon retirement, Eugenia returned to her home state of Alabama where she lives with her husband Rob Phillips and their beloved Keeshond, Abigail. She and Rob are the proud grandparents of two girls, Penelope Rose and Melody Harper Phillips. 4
