Welcome to Camp!

For nearly 100 years, Girl Scouts from across our council have spent their summers at Camp Molly Lauman. Whether you like to spend your days hiking and adventuring, making art, or splashing in the pool, there is something for everyone at camp – and everyone belongs.

Whether it will be your first or your 10th time at camp, everyone who drives under our archway gets to experience the camp magic. We try new things, gain independence, and build friendships while also building fairy houses, campfires, and of course, epic s’mores.

We encourage you to talk with your family when deciding which session to attend—camp is most successful when campers and adults make the decision together. You can check out a quiz on camp readiness by scanning the QR code. I’m always happy to chat with a family or camper and help find the best fit for you to explore your horizons.

Growing up at Girl Scout camp gave me the confidence to grow from a nervous first-time camper into a confident leader and adventurer, and I am so grateful for those experiences!

Each summer is a new opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime. Our counselors travel from all over Ohio and the world to give our campers the best week ever – and they can’t wait to meet you!

Camp Activites Each camp has activities that relate to the special theme you signed up for. Your counselors will have amazing surprises planned for you when you arrive, but you also get to help plan the camp week of your dreams by voting for some of your activities and planning a delicious campfire cookout menu. You might even earn a badge or two while you’re at it! All campers also have plenty of time to do traditional camp activities like: Swimming Arts and crafts Exploring nature Singing traditional camp songs Playing games Meeting friends old and new!

Life in the Woods Campers live in a group with other girls who have signed up for the same program. Each unit has sleeping quarters for 16-24 campers, outdoor latrines, a hand washing station and a picnic shelter. Campers also have access to a private changing area in each unit if they wish to use it. A central shower house is available, which all campers have the option to use on each full day of camp. In case of severe weather, indoor lodges are available as shelters. We have four types of sleeping structures:

PLATFORM TENTS are where most campers sleep. They are heavy canvas structures with wooden floors, four beds, and screened openings. Flaps can be rolled up to allow for light and ventilation.

CABINS have lights, screened windows and four beds. They have electricity, so you might want to bring a small fan to help keep you cool!

YURTS are a cool cross between a tent and cabin. They have ceiling fans, lights, screened windows, and four sets of bunk beds.

Our LODGE is a large open room.

Campers sleep on folding cots and have access to indoor bathrooms.

Camp Staff Camp staff come from around Ohio and the world and go through a rigorous selection, screening and training process. Many staff members are aspiring teachers, outdoor educators, or medical professionals. Some are even former campers! They work at camp because they love having fun and seeing your campers grow and thrive in the safe environment they help create.

Except for campers who sleep in the lodge, staff members do not sleep in the same quarters as campers. Counselors stay in tents or cabins near the center of the unit where they can easily monitor everyone. At night, counselors will check to make sure that everyone is settling in and often read stories or sing each tent to sleep. They are always in earshot and ready to help. Camp administrative staff will reach out if your camper is having any issues that you should be aware of!

What’s Cooking?

Meals at camp are kid-friendly and healthy, and we can accommodate most common allergies and dietary restrictions. Most meals are served family-style in the camp dining hall. Campers also enjoy campfire cookouts, where they’ll get to help plan the menu and prepare the meals.

Typical meals include pizza, chicken nuggets and mac and cheese, French toast sticks and bacon, and lots more. There’s always a salad or breakfast bar available and a sandwich station too! Campers have access to fruit and snacks like pretzels or granola bars if they need a bite to eat between meals.

Camp Friends Forever!

Bring a Friend!

You can request a buddy* to bunk with you during your time at camp. To be bunk buddies, you both must be registered for the same program, and both must request each other by name, not troop number. Buddy requests are made through the CampDoc system after registering for camp – more information can be found in our Overnight Camp Success Guide. *Why just one buddy? Most campers stay in four-person tents or cabins and groups of other sizes cannot always be accommodated.

If you have more than one friend coming to camp with you, you’ll have plenty of time to hang out with them during all your daytime activities. After all, part of the fun of camp is meeting new friends! However, we want to make sure your campers are comfortable and ready. Contact the camp director if you have specific questions.

Camping Solo?

Most of our campers come on their own, so don’t worry if you sign up without a buddy!

You’ll live with a group that signed up for the same session as you, so you’ll already have lots in common. Camp counselors are great at helping everyone to get to know each other with fun games and activities. You’ll want to bring a notebook and pen to get contact info from your new camp friends at the end of the week!

Tiered Pricing We believe that every camper, regardless of financial circumstances, should have the opportunity to experience camp. While the cost to maintain camp continues to rise, we understand that families have different abilities to meet summer camp costs. For this reason, we use tiered pricing.

closely reflects the full cost of camp, including staff expenses, property maintenance, program experiences and supplies, and food.

is a partially subsidized cost for camp, for families that can pay a little more, but not the full cost of camp.

Tier Three is heavily subsidized through grants, the generosity of donors, and through participation in product programs.

Choose the tier that works best for you and your family. Fee choice is on the honor system, and no financial documentation is required. All campers have the same experience regardless of the tier chosen, and camp staff have no knowledge of which tier their campers selected.

Financial Assistance Financial assistance can be requested by visiting gsoh.org/residentcamp.

Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We try to support as many campers as possible through our Financial Assistance program and therefore may not be able to honor your full request amount.

A $50 deposit is required to reserve your space at camp. Financial assistance cannot be used to cover this deposit. If you will be applying for financial assistance, please select the Tier Three price at registration. Once your space is secured, you can make payments at your own pace from the time of registration until June 1 in your myGS Account.

How to Register Online registration starts at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Registration is completed online via myGS – you’ll need to create an account if you don’t already have one. Head to gsoh.org/activities and search for Resident Camp, or scan the QR code! At registration, you will need to select your desired camp session, price tier, and T-shirt size. The optional bus ride and Care Kit add-ons can also be purchased at registration.

Bus Transportation Hopping on a bus ride to and from camp is fun for campers and easy for caregivers!

Friendly camp counselors supervise the bus ride and assist you with checking in. Your camper can catch the bus in Sunbury or at the Watermark office in Columbus. Exact bus stop locations and times are included in the Camp Success Guide, which can be found at insert URL here.

The bus fee is $50 for all bus stops. Pre-registration is required, and fees are paid at the time of registration. Bus registration closes the Wednesday prior to your camp session, or when the bus reaches capacity. One-way bus journeys are available on request but you still must pay the $50 fee.

Want to work at camp? We’re hiring!

Camp Staff – Minimum Age 18 If you want to spend your summer laughing, singing, teaching, and being a professional role model, camp is the place for you! We’ve got jobs ranging from counselors to lifeguards to kitchen staff and more, with pay based on position and experience. It’s the perfect resume builder to enhance careers in fields as wide-ranging as education, healthcare, management, and more! Staff should enjoy working with children, be at ease in an outdoor environment, and expect to work hard as part of a diverse team. Staff live on site at camp all summer (May 30-July 25), with time off on weekends and July 4. Visit gsoh.org and search for Work at Camp to apply!

Volunteers Needed!

At times camp needs additional adult volunteer support filling in for specialized roles such as our kitchen staff or Healthcare Supervisor to assist with staff time off.

If you have experience in food service or healthcare and have availability to spend between a few days and a week at camp, we’d love to hear from you! Roles are limited and appointed on an as-needed basis, but can include a fee waiver for a camper to attend camp if applicable.

Trailblazers

I Heart Art

Grade Completed: 4-5 Housing: Tents Number of Days: 6 Lace up your hiking shoes and make a top tier trail mix as you set out to explore hidden corners of the Molly Lauman trails.

You’ll learn about the plants and wildlife at camp while you plan delicious campfire meals, explore the creek and canoe on Big Bear Lake, and embark on an overnight sleepover in a special spot. You’ll relax around the campfire and the pool in between your adventures!

Sculpt with clay, try out new painting techniques, make friendship bracelets, and customize your own sketchbooks. Between art projects you’ll get to take a break at the pool, canoe on the lake, and put your talents to work completing a big project to make camp more beautiful!

Summer Sleuths

Grade Completed: 4-5 Housing: Tents Number of Days: 6 Do you love spending time with horses, or want to give it a try? Take a field trip where you’ll spend two days learning about horse care and riding at Misty Ridge Farms in Northern Kentucky. You’ll spend the night having a slumber party at the Cincinnati Zoo where you’ll meet animals from around North America. At Molly, you’ll try all the camp classics too — canoeing, swimming, archery, and more!

Sunshine and Saddles

Grade Completed: 4-5 Housing: Cabins Number of Days: 6 Spend your week in a live action roleplay mystery! Find clues, solve puzzles, interview suspects, and more to solve a mystery on camp. In between your work as a detective, you’ll get to enjoy time off at the pool and other classic camp activities.

Once you solve the mystery, you’ll also have finished all the steps to earn your Junior Detective badge!

In My Pop Star Era

Grade Completed: 4-8 Housing: Yurts Number of Days: 6 It’s been a long time coming! Spend a week at camp in your Pop-Star Era. Hang out with other Swifties and Shake It Off at a late night dance party. Try your hand at songwriting, craft friendship bracelets, and bake Taylor’s favorite Chai Sugar Cookie recipe. You’ll be The Archer on the target sports range, take a hike Out of the Woods, and have The Best Day lounging at the pool. Finally, you’ll feel some good karma after doing a service project for a cat rescue and show your fearless side at a closing campfire performance. Are you ready for it?

Survival Games

Grade Completed: 6-11 Housing: Tent Number of Days: 6 Do you have a hunger for adventure? Spend time in training practicing fire building, navigation, target practice and other important survival skills. On game day, put your skills to the test in an epic challenge against other Survival Games competitors.

Mentors will guide and prepare you, but you’ll need skill, strategy, and teamwork to win. May the odds be ever in your favor!

InSPAration

Grade Completed: 4-8 Housing: Cabins Number of Days: 6 This week at camp is all about you! It’s your time to relax, be creative, and be yourself.

Work together with your counselors to plan a week that sounds perfect to you!

You’ll learn strategies for self-care as you plan delicious meals, pamper yourself with DIY spa treatments, and try out upcycled fashion and fun ways to exercise like yoga and Zumba. Be sure to bring your favorite books and board games to relax in our hammock village or by the pool.

Whether you like to be in the spotlight or behind the scenes, there’s something for everyone. Learn special effects and stage make-up, try out choreography, and meet with a musical theater performer to learn what it’s like to be on stage. You’ll swim, cook over the campfire, and watch your favorite musicals under the stars. All the while, you’ll work together with your fellow campers to plan and perform a production for the rest of camp!

Tents and Trailrides

Grade Completed: 6-11 Housing: Tent Number of Days: 6 Do you love the thrill of adventure? At camp, try out archery and hatchet throwing, go canoeing with a twist, and take a dip in the pool. Then, set off on an adventure where you camp out with your counselors and spend two days completing an epic zipline course and chasing thrills on King’s Island’s roller coasters! You’ll be back in time for a closing campfire with your new friends.

Travel to Misty Ridge Farms in Northern Kentucky, where you’ll spend three days learning the basics of horse care and riding. You’ll set up camp for two nights in tents at lakeside AJ Jolly State Park where you’ll plan campfire dinners and enjoy beautiful sunsets! Back at Molly, you’ll still get to swim in the pool and sing your heart out at closing campfire.

Grade Completed: 6-11 Housing: Lodge Number of Days: 6 Take your cooking and baking skills to the next level as you whip up culinary creations both in the kitchen and over the campfire!

You decide what you’d like to learn as you sample recipes from around the world, bake treats worthy of a gourmet restaurant, and complete in a camp “Chopped” challenge where you get creative with crazy ingredients! You’ll tie-dye an apron to take home and of course have plenty of time for classic camp activities like swimming and archery too.

Get ready for your adventure as you plan your meals and practice setting up camp.

Learn backpacking basics like how to load your pack and filter water. Then, set off for two days of hiking and adventuring in Hocking Hills. You’ll set up your tents at a nearby campground before exploring new trails to caves and waterfalls and even trying a rock-climbing challenge.

Counselor in Training 2

Grade Completed: 9-11 Housing: Tent Number of Days: 10 Want to work at camp someday? In this fun, hands-on session, you’ll go in-depth to develop your leadership skills in preparation to be a camp counselor. Choose a camp name and spend time learning and laughing with your fellow CITs as well as shadowing with different age groups and areas of camp that interest you. You’ll stay through the weekend to put your skills to the test co-leading activities at Family Camp, then spend a two-night mini session shadowing in the unit or program area of your choice.

This program prepares you to be a CIT 2 the following summer!

DATES: Session 3 & 4: Sun. June 21 – Tues. June 30 COST: Tier One: $425.00 Tier Two: $350.00 Tier Three: $275.00

Grade Completed: 10-11 Housing: Tent Number of Days: 5 (plus additional weeks of your choice) Continue developing your leadership during this unique program as you move another step closer to working at camp! Spend three days at camp during staff training to continuing to learn and build your skill set with opportunities to earn certifications like First Aid/CPR and archery, then put your skills to practice co-leading activities at a weekend Troop Camp. You can then return to camp for up to two additional sessions of your choice during the summer to work directly with younger campers as you intern with an age group or program area that interests you. Previous completion of CIT 1 required. Leaders who complete CIT 2 are eligible to apply as paid Junior Staff in future seasons.

What if my top choice session sells out?

Not to worry! We offer a waitlist in case of cancellations. You can contact Customer Care to add your camper! We are sometimes able to add an additional session if there is interest, although it may live in different housing than the original session – for example, in tents instead of cabins. In the spring and summer, check out our most up-to-date offerings online!

Packing List The following is a recommended packing list for average Ohio summer weather. Camp Molly Lauman does not have laundry facilities, so please pack for six full days of activity, or three days for Mini Sessions. We suggest packing in a suitcase, duffel bag, or small plastic tote with lid.

Troop Adventure Camp

Troops provide adult supervision for their girls, but we provide the rest! Our camp staff will prepare delicious meals, lead songs and games, and facilitate a host of activities for your troop to choose from, from arts and crafts to slingshots and archery to canoeing and more!

You can try all the camp classics like canoeing and target sports but also try out snacks and games from around the world and meet our international staff team. Everyone will have a blast, but only one team can be crowned the Amazing Race champion at Saturday night’s pool party celebration!

Family Camp

(1 Night Option) Housing: Tents Bring your whole family to camp for an adventure! From grandma to your little brother, there’s room at camp for everyone!

Spend one night at camp and fill the next day trying activities like target sports, campfire cooking, creeking, and more. We’ll provide the tasty meals and campfire songs you’ll be singing the whole way home! This is a perfect introduction to camp for firsttime campers or a way for your seasoned pro to show off their home in the woods.

All family groups must have at least one registered Girl Scout in Grades K-11.

Housing Upgrades: Participants who select a housing upgrade will sleep with their troop or family group in either a yurt or cabin. Yurts and cabins both include electric lights and power. Smoky Mountain Adventure

Backpacking 201

Grade Completed: 6–Adult Location: Camp Beckoning Trails Housing: Tents Spend a weekend learning more about backpacking and putting your skills to the test with a hike and overnight. You’ll meet at Camp Beckoning Trails and spend a night in Marlie Lodge planning your meals and packing - we’ll provide most gear, like tents and packs, but you can bring your own to practice if you have it! Then, you’ll set out for a hike with your pack on the beautiful trails of southeast Ohio. You’ll head back to camp to set up your tents at Rainbow’s End where you’ll cook dinner and enjoy a night in the backcountry. Attend as a solo participant or bring your troop and leaders – you’ll select which option works for you when you register!

DATES: Fri. evening June 10 - Sun. morning June 12 COST: $100

Housing: Tents Start at Camp Molly Lauman as you prepare to set out for the Smokies! You’ll spend two days enjoying the rides and slides at Dollywood Theme Park and Splash Country before heading into Great Smoky Mountain National Park to experience the beauty of its waterfalls, peaks, and incredible views.

You’ll take day hikes, learn from park rangers, and end the days nestled in your tent in a National Park campground. The mountains are calling!

DATES: Sun. July 12 – Sun. July 17 COST: $850 per person, which includes transportation, lodging, meals, and activities.
