Growing Gardeners Give your child the opportunity to develop a green thumb early in life! Children will learn about the elements necessary for growth and experience the life cycle of a plant by nurturing a plant from seed to sprout. Once the sprout gets strong enough, children will plant it into an outdoor pot so everyone can see the fruits of their hard work. Children will get their fingers dirty with this interactive class full of fun, learning and play! HappyFeet Soccer HappyFeet uses nursery rhymes, songs, stories, and fun games with a soccer ball to maximize motor development in PK and JK students. Spanish with Señora Cynthia PK

Give your child a headstart on their language development with Spanish knowledge! Join Señora as she further explores Spanish vocabulary in this fun and interactive class. This class will focus on animals, food, weather and transportation.

Preschool Creative Art with The Art Project In this class, students will get to use a wide variety of art mediums and techniques painting, collage, watercolor, glue, drawing, Model Magic clay and more! We’ll do lots of process-based art and sensory play to let students explore their creativity. Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - Junior Kindergarten Dates: Mondays, January 13 - April 6 (10 classes) *No class January 20, February 17, March 9 Time: 3:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Location: Middle School Art Room Instructor: Katherine Riederer of the Art Project Cost: $180

New Ballet Ensemble: Ballet Following the structure of an introductory ballet class, students will progress to standing at the barre in very basic positions, with little "turn out." Although free movement (the opportunity to improvise) and "mapping the floor" are still important class components, remaining class time will be devoted to beginning barre work (facing the barre only) and beginning center work including skipping, chasse, gallop and ballet walks. Basic French terminology of dance will also be taught. The instructing teacher will adapt the classroom lesson plan in order to meet the appropriate developmental standards for each age group. The younger ballet class (PK and JK) will spend less time at the barre and overall ballet structure will be less formal. The older class (SK-2nd) will spend more time at the barre and they will be introduced to a more formal instruction in regards to ballet technique. Girls must wear a pink leotard, pink tights and ballet shoes. Boys must wear a white shirt, black shorts and black ballet shoes.

Tumbling Come join us for a chance to flip, tumble and twirl this semester, all while enhancing your flexibility and existing tumbling skills. Great for beginners or intermediate tumblers! Students will have the opportunity to work on front, back and side tumbling, including power preps, cartwheels, roundoffs, limbers, walkovers and handsprings. Tumblers should wear athletic attire with hair pulled back if needed. Karate GSL Karate is a martial arts course with influences from Taekwondo, Kung fu and Karate. Patrick Register, better known as Mr. Dragon, is a 6th degree black belt with over 30 years of teaching experience (over 25 at GSL). The emphasis is on self control, self confidence and self defense, giving students the knowledge and confidence to make good decisions both inside the classroom and out! All students must have a uniform to participate. Uniforms can be purchased through the instructor for $45 made payable to Pat Register. New students should send payment in an envelope to the first class. Questions should be addressed to Pat at 901-486-7174. Sew Ready for Summer

It’s “sew” much fun! Each week, sewers will stitch up new projects that reflect their personal style and creativity while learning new skills. Projects include pillows, stuffed animals, bags, accessories and holiday-themed projects. This class is for boys and girls!

Stitch up some summertime projects in this special Sewing Club session. Girls and boys will enjoy sewing accessories perfect for summertime fun all while working on concentration and fine motor skills!

SK Literacy Club This club is all about learning phonics and sight words through MOVEMENT! SK kids will run, jump and play their way to mastery of SK reading skills through hands-on and gross motor activities. Literacy Club provides a targeted focus on the most recent literacy skills taught in SK as well as the skills that the individual club members need to practice. Come read and play with us!

Wednesday, March 25 - Happy Meals Every year, Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal Church provides 10,000 meals to our poor, elderly, disenfranchised and homeless neighbors through More Than a Meal. Spread some kindness and joy by helping facilitate donations to this signature GSL outreach program.

Crazy Chemical Reactions Learn more about the amazing world of chemistry by exploring the difference between a physical change and a chemical reaction. This session will be a handson and minds-on experience where you are a true scientist. Complete several lab experiments that illustrate the characteristics of a chemical change, including color change, heat change and gas formation! After the completion of this two day course, you will be more confident in the science lab and more knowledgeable of the periodic table, as well as the interactions of chemicals. Parkour: Mastering the Body Through the Mind Parkour, the art of advanced movement and body awareness, has been made popular in movies, video games and online. This class makes Parkour skills accessible to students by allowing experimentation in a safe, controlled setting. Parkour builds coordination and helps practitioners to find their true athletic potential. As a group, students will have the opportunity to explore the GSL grounds in search of interesting architecture to interact with as they continue growing in their movement awareness. ACE: Enrichment Policies

REGISTRATION UltraCamp is used to manage all registration and billing activity for ACE: Enrichment. An UltraCamp account with a card on file is required to register. Families new to UltraCamp will be taken through the process of creating a new user account. Advanced registration is required for each ACE: Enrichment offering. Classes are filled on a firstcome, first-served basis. Registration will remain open until a class is full or until the day before a class begins. Please enroll early. Confirmation of ACE: Enrichment reservations will be sent via email. Class times, dates, and locations can be found on UltraCamp or in this brochure. PAYMENT INFORMATION There are two options to pay for ACE: Enrichment classes: 1. Pay in full at the time of registration 2. Pay 50 percent at the time of registration; remaining balance must be paid in full three days before the class begins

ACE: After School provides a fun and safe environment for students after school from 3-6 p.m. on full days (2:25-6 p.m. on Wednesdays) and 12-5:30 p.m. on half days. REGISTRATION UltraCamp is used to manage all registration and billing activity for ACE: After School. An UltraCamp account with a card on file is required to register and to use the drop-in option at any time. Click here to create a new Ultracamp account. Once registered, a family is unable to change to the drop-in option until the following semeser.
