Come ormai di consueto, il nuovo numero di Ba-things, raccoglie e racconta le esperienze vissute, i traguardi raggiunti, ma soprattutto le novità introdotte. Il risultato di un anno di lavoro e determinazione, con l’obiettivo di presentare ai nostri partner, prodotti nuovi ed innovativi.

Novità di prodotto, con il lancio della nuova collezione “Sand” che presentiamo in tutta la sua sinuosa bellezza. Con l’integrazione delle collezioni “Pura” e “Classic” che già hanno ottenuto grande successo e riscontri sui mercati internazionali e che si arricchiscono di nuovi elementi. Novità tecniche e tecnologiche con la presentazione del nuovo speciale smalto Extraglaze® che rende le superfici ceramiche più levigate, brillanti e facilmente pulibili.

La nuova linea di copriwater dotati dell’innovativo sistema di installazione ed estrazione rapida quickrelease che semplifica le attività di montaggio ed agevola le operazioni di pulizia.

Il lancio di un tool digitale, inedito nel settore della ceramica a supporto dei clienti, che per mezzo di particolari Qr code, consente di consultare online la documentazione tecnica dei nostri prodotti. Nuovi appuntamenti, eventi e fiere all’insegna dell’ampliamento della rete di relazioni commerciali in particolare con i paesi esteri e dell’estremo oriente.

Un anno intenso, quello appena trascorso, che vogliamo raccontare e condividere con i nostri interlocutori, i nostri partner e con quanti avranno piacere di entrare in un mondo affascinante: quello della migliore produzione ceramica italiana.

As usual, the new issue of Ba-things collects and relates our latest experiences, the goals we’ve achieved, and above all the innovations we’ve introduced. It is the result of a year of hard work and determination aimed at presenting groundbreaking products to our partners.

First of all, we’ve launched the new Sand collection, characterized by its sinuous beauty. On top of that, we’ve enriched with new elements our Pura and Classic collections, which have already met with huge success and acclaim on the international market.

Secondly, we’ve introduced technical innovations such as the special Extraglaze®, which makes ceramic surfaces smoother, brighter, and more easily washable. Or our new line of toilet seats with an innovative QuickRelease installation and extraction system, which makes both fitting and cleaning faster and easier.

Last but not least, the introduction of QR codes to support our customers: unprecedented in the ceramic sanitary ware industry, this brand-new tool allows anyone to access real-time technical information about our products online. And of course there have been new appointments, events, and fairs aimed at extending our network of relationships to other countries, especially in the Far East.

It’s been a busy and intense year that we want to share with our partners and anyone who is interested in exploring the fascinating world of top-quality Italian ceramics.

Landscape, tradition, technology.

Questo territorio ricco di storia, culla dell’antichissima civiltà falisca, dominato dalla maestosità solitaria del monte Soratte, ha sempre affascinato poeti, pittori, eremiti. Un paesaggio dolce e aspro allo stesso tempo: le profonde gole scavate dalle acque, i contrasti tra il rosso del tufo e il verde della densa vegetazione, i borghi arroccati venivano evocati nel verso, sulla tela, nelle meditazioni spirituali.

Quella terrestre magia, quell’incantata suggestione sospesa tra il giallo, l’ocra e lo smeraldo, sono rimaste immutate, e ancor oggi rapiscono il visitatore.

This region ‒rich in history and in the cradle of ancient Faliscan civilization, dominated by the solitary majesty of Mount Soracte‒ has always fascinated poets, painters, and hermits. The landscape is both gentle and rugged: the deep gorges dug by rivers, the contrasts between the red of tuff and the green of thick vegetation, and the villages perched on hilltops have been evoked in verse, on canvas, and in spiritual meditations. That magic ‒that enchanted grace suspended between yellow, ocher, and emerald‒ hasn’t changed over the centuries and continues to captivate visitors.

Dove un fiume scorre, sorge una civiltà. L’acqua vivifica, gli uomini ne sfruttano l’impetuosa energia. L’acqua permette di plasmare la terra, di creare nuove forme. È un connubio prezioso, questa fusione di solido e liquido, di ancestrale fissità e incessante mutamento.

Terra e acqua sono gli elementi che da sempre, dosati e mescolati con sapiente perizia, coesistono armonicamente nella forma dei manufatti. Sono millenni che qui, nel nostro territorio, si produce la ceramica: con la terra e l’acqua, suggellate dal fuoco.

Where a river flows, a civilization arises. Water is a source of life, and human beings exploit its power. Water allows us to mold the earth and create new forms. This blending of solid and liquid matter, of ancestral fixity and perpetual transformation, is a precious union.

Earth and water, skillfully measured out and mixed, are the basic elements that have always coexisted in harmony in artifacts.

Ceramics have been manufactured for centuries in this region, with earth and water sealed together by fire.

Non è paradossale: una tradizione resiste nel tempo solo se si è capaci di rinnovarla di continuo. Anche a costo di ripensare l’intero ciclo produttivo, per adottare quelle tecnologie che alzeranno sensibilmente il livello qualitativo dei nostri manufatti. Ecco perché GSI ha deciso di valorizzare le proprie maestranze, mettendo a disposizione della loro competenza e abilità i macchinari più avanzati tra quelli oggi disponibili nel settore ceramico. Andare oltre con la tradizione, con l’unico scopo di realizzare il prodotto migliore possibile. Questo l’obiettivo principale della nostra Azienda. GSI sa di arrivare da lontano, di essere debitrice di un passato unico e prezioso; per questo sente con maggior forza di dover scrivere un capitolo importante in questa lunga storia: il capitolo che s’intitola “futuro”.

There’s nothing strange about that: a tradition only endures over time if people are able to constantly renew it, even if this involves reconsidering the entire production cycle and adopting new technologies that significantly improve the quality of the products manufactured.

This is why GSI has decided to improve the skills and potential of its specialized workers by providing them with the most state-of-the-art machinery available today in the ceramics industry. Our main goal is to carry on the tradition by crafting the best products possible.

We know we come from afar, and we haven’t forgotten our unique and precious past. This is why we feel compelled to write an important chapter in this long history: the chapter entitled “The Future.”

GSI dispone della tecnologia produttiva più avanzata oggi disponibile per il settore ceramico.

L’impianto di colaggio ad alta pressione consente di ottenere sanitari di maggiore qualità in un tempo più breve. Gli stampi in resina rimangono inalterati permettendo di mantenere il livello qualitativo per l'intero utilizzo dello stesso.

Anche per il colaggio tradizionale GSI è al passo con i tempi: l’automatizzazione di questa fase di produzione è ormai da anni patrimonio dell’azienda.

GSI uses the latest technology in the industry: the high pressure casting systems allow us to obtain sanitary fittings of better quality in less time. The resin molds remain unchanged; the first piece is identical to the last one produced.

GSI also keeps abreast of the times with its traditional casting system, which has been automated for years.

Un punto di forza della produzione di GSI è senz’altro il suo forno a tunnel. Disposti su carrelli a scorrimento meccanico, i sanitari sono collocati in modo da sfruttare al meglio l’ingombro disponibile. La lunghezza del tunnel e la potenza raggiunta sono i rilevatori di qualità dei prodotti GSI, perché “il prodotto uscito dal forno è lo specchio dell’azienda”.

A great asset to our production is undoubtedly our tunnel kiln. The sanitary fittings are arranged on mechanical conveyor belts to make the best use of the space available. The quality of the products is determined by the length of the tunnel and the power level reached because the product emerging from the kiln reflects the company as a whole.

La percentuale di oggetti GSI che non passa la fase di controllo qualità è piuttosto bassa, risultato di anni di intenso lavoro e di innovazione in ciascuna fase produttiva. Ma anche gli scarti rientrano in un ciclo virtuoso di recupero: alcuni sono frantumati per poter essere utilizzati come fire clay, altri vengono smaltiti nel rispetto della sostenibilità ambientale.

The percentage of GSI products that fail to pass quality control is very low. This is the result of years of hard work and innovation at each stage of production. Rejected items are also sustainably recycled: some are smashed to be used as fire clay, others are disposed of in accordance with environmental standards.

L’importanza dei paesi emergenti è sempre maggiore sia da un punto di vista economico-finanziario che sociale. Da un punto di vista strategico, l'incremento della domanda di infrastrutture rappresenta un importante centro di moltiplicazione delle opportunità di mercato. Nel corso del 2014 GSI ha partecipato, con successo, a due importanti fiere di settore a Shangai ed a Mumbai sostenendo e promuovendo l’Italian made rispettivamente al Kitchen&Bath ed all’AceTech.

The importance of emerging countries continues to increase both on a financial and social level.

From a strategic point of view, the growing demand for infrastructure significantly increases market opportunities. In 2014, GSI attended two important industry events, successfully sponsoring and promoting Italian Made at the Kitchen &Bath in Shanghai and at the Acetech in Mumbai.

ExtraGlaze® è un nuovo smalto ceramico che, riducendo al minimo la formazione di pori superficiali, rende le superfici ceramiche più levigate, brillanti e facilmente lavabili. ExtraGlaze® viene applicato ai prodotti durante il ciclo di produzione e prima della loro cottura. In questo modo il nuovo smalto è parte integrante della ceramica ed i suoi effetti permanenti. Il risultato sono superfici ceramiche estremamente liscie, brillanti e durevoli nel tempo. I prodotti trattati con ExtraGlaze® sono più resistenti agli agenti chimici, e grazie all’estrema levigatezza e brillantezza, sono protetti da calcare e batteri e rimangono pulite più a lungo. Le proprietà di ExtraGlaze® si riflettono positivamente sulla sostenibilità ambientale grazie al consumo di una quantità ridotta di detergenti ed acqua per le ordinarie operazioni di pulizia.

ExtraGlaze® represents the latest goal achieved

by GSI in innovation and research, in order to provide the highest quality within its products.

ExtraGlaze® is a new ceramic glaze which by minimizing the formation of surface pores, makes the ceramic surfaces smoother, brighter and easily washable. ExtraGlaze® is applied to the products during the production cycle and prior to their firing. In this way, the new enamel is an integral part of the ceramic and its permanent effects. The result is extremely smooth, shiny and long lasting ceramic surfaces.

The products treated with the ExtraGlaze® are more resistant to chemicals, and thanks to the extreme smoothness and brightness, they are protected from bacteria and limestone and stay clean longer. The ExtraGlaze® properties reflect positively on environmental sustainability thanks to the use of a reduced amount of detergent and water during the cleaning routine operations.

GSI ceramica introduce un nuovo copriwater con un innovativo sistema di installazione.

Il nuovo sistema “Quick Release” si contraddistingue per la facilità con cui permette di estrarre il copriwater in maniera semplice e senza l’impiego di utensili di alcun genere. È sufficiente tirare il copriwater verso l’alto esercitando una forza sufficiente alla sua estrazione. In questo modo sarà possibile eseguire le operazioni di pulizia del copriwater e del wc anche nelle superfici generalmente difficili da raggiungere garantendo una maggiore igiene. Altrettanto semplice sarà il riposizionamento del copriwater: una volta posizionato in corrispondenza delle cerniere sarà sufficiente esercitare una pressione relativamente debole. In abbinamento al sistema di chiusura soft-close i copriwater GSI raggiungono livelli di efficienza e comfort senza precedenti. Il sistema soft-close predispone il copriwater per una chiusura rallentata.

Questo consentirà di evitare cadute accidentali e chiusure del copriwater troppo violente garantendo comfort ed evitando danni accidentali.

GSI ceramica introduces a new seat & cover with an innovative installation system.

The new “Quick Release” system is distinguished by the simplicity with which it allows to pull out the seat & cover in a simple way and without the use of any kind of tool.

Simply pull the seat & cover up using a sufficient force for its removal. This will make it possible to clean the toilet seat and even the wc in areas that are usually difficult to reach, granting a major hygiene. Repositioning the seat & cover is as simple; once placed on the hinges, it will be will be sufficient to employ a relatively weak pressure.

Matching up with the soft-close system, the GSI seat & covers reach levels of efficiency and comfort never reached before.

The soft-close system predisposes the seat & cover for a slow closing. This will prevent accidental falls and violent closures of the seat & cover, preventing damages.

È il caso ad esempio del nuovo copriwater con profilo sottile che, in abbinamento ai sanitari Pura e Norm, nelle versioni terra e sospesi, denota uno stile ancora più minimalista, elegante e raffinato.

Thanks to their rational design and elegant shapes, the Pura and Norm collections have been much appreciated in the market, and so we’ve added new products and accessories to them over the last year to meet customers’ demands. For example the new, thin toilet seat‒ combined with the Pura and Norm WCs both in the floor-standing and wall-hung versions‒ further contributes to the collections’ minimalist, refined elegance.

QR code

GSI ceramica lancia un tool inedito nel settore della ceramica per sanitari a supporto di clienti e partner. Grazie al sistema messo a punto dall’azienda chiunque potrà ottenere in tempo reale informazioni tecniche sui prodotti GSI di proprio interesse semplicemente inquadrandoli con uno smartphone. Ogni prodotto in ceramica GSI, sia che si tratti di un lavabo, un wc, un orinatoio, un bidet, un piatto doccia o una vasca da bagno, è dotato di un’etichetta contenente un QrCode.

Inquadrando il QrCode con uno smartphone o un tablet, automaticamente comparirà sul dispositivo la scheda tecnica del prodotto.

Il sistema è veramente molto semplice e funziona con qualunque dispositivo mobile, Android, iOS Apple, Windows 8 ecc. È sufficiente installare sul proprio dispositivo, dallo store di riferimento, un’applicazione gratuita per la lettura di QrCode. Una volta installata l’applicazione basterà lanciarla ed inquadrare il QrCode presente sull’etichetta del prodotto GSI ed automaticamente si aprirà la scheda tecnica del prodotto. L’applicativo è stato appositamente pensato per venire incontro alle esigenze di tutti coloro che necessitano di dettagli tecnici in situazioni in cui risulterebbe difficile o scomodo ricorrere al supporto telefonico oppure accere mediante computer alla sezione schede tecniche del sito internet. In questa maniera sarà veramente semplice ed immediato ottenere dettagli o sciogliere dubbi di carattere tecnico e non solo.

GSI ceramica launches a brand new tool in the ceramic sanitary ware field to support customers and partners.

Thanks to the system developed by the company, anyone can get realtime technical information on GSI products by simply framing them with a smartphone. Each product at GSI ceramica, whether it is a washbasin, a wc, a urinal, bidet, shower tray or bathtub, comes with a label containing a QrCode. By framing the QrCode with a smartphone or a tablet, the product’s technical draft will automatically appear on the device. The system is really very simple and works with any mobile device, Android, Apple iOS, Windows 8 and so on.

Simply install on your device, from the store of reference, a free application for QrCode reading. Once the application is installed, just launch it and frame the QrCode found on the product label and GSI will automatically open the product’s technical draft.

This app has been specifically designed to meet the needs of all those who require technical details in situations where it would be difficult or uncomfortable to use a phone’s support or access by computer to the technical draft section of the website.

In this way it will be really simple and easy to get details or dissolve doubts of technical character and not only.

The softness of Sand

In anteprima GSI presenta Sand. Una collezione dal carattere distintivo e deciso, che deriva dall’idea progettuale che ne è alla base: creare una linea di prodotti affascinanti. Già nel nome si intuisce l’intento creativo che si materializza in prodotti dalle forme sinuose e morbide ad evocare quelle delle immense distese sabbiose che per contrasto richiamano alla mente il flusso dell’acqua che scorre nei catini avvolgenti dei lavabi e dei sanitari Sand.

GSI presents Sand, a collection with a strong, resolute character originating from the idea of creating a line of fascinating products.

The name itself hints at the intention of fashioning sinuous and soft shapes meant to evoke the vast expanses of sand that remind us, by contrast, of the water flowing in the comfortable Sand washbasins and sanitary fittings.

La nuova collezione Sand è composta da un linea di lavabi disponibili in varie misure che possono essere installati ad appoggio su mensole o mobili oppure a sospensione. Fanno parte della collezione wc e bidet in versione terra e sospesi e due linee di vasche da bagno.

The new Sand collection is composed of a line of washbasins available in different sizes and fittings for installation on shelves, furniture, or walls. The collection also includes floor-standing and wall-hung WCs and bidets as well as two bathtub lines.

Tre prodotti dalle linee geometriche e semplici. Il cerchio e l’ellisse, declinati in tre diverse misure: ø42 cm, 60x42 cm ed infine 70x42 cm.

Tre lavabi per installazione ad appoggio e al contempo dotati di foro troppopieno ideali per arredare ambienti bagno eleganti, contemporanei e funzionali.

The Pura collection’s dynamism, determined by our customers’ demands, continues with the addition of three new washbasins characterized by simple geometric shapes. Available in three different sizes (ø42 cm, 60x42 cm, and 70x42 cm), designed for countertop installation, and equipped with an overflow hole, these washbasins are ideal for an elegant, modern, and functional bathroom environment.

Nostalgica e romantica, è Classic la collezione di sanitari in stile classico rivisitato in chiave contemporanea. La collezione si arricchisce di due nuovi prodotti, molto particolari: lavabi che si posizionano all’estremo superiore all’interno del range di dimensioni disponibili. Un lavabo da 105 cm ed uno ancor più generoso da 125 cm con due ampi e confortevoli bacini. La linea di lavabi Classic è così ora composta da otto lavabi di cui tre per installazione sottopiano.

Nostalgic and romantic, the Classic collection is a contemporary revisitation of classic style and now comes enriched with two new large washbasins measuring 105 and 125 cm; the latter is equipped with two wide and comfortable basins.

Thus the Classic line now includes eight washbasins, three of which are for undercounter installation.
