October Community grows when we show up for one another.
Good Turn for Goodwill Throughout the month of October, Girl Scouts are encouraged to collect bags of gently used clothing and household items to donate to their local Goodwill store. They can also collect unwanted electronic supplies, such as computers, tablets and old cell phones, to recycle through Goodwill. As part of the program, troops are invited to participate in Good Turn for Goodwill Tour Day on October 17, with special behind-thescenes tours offered at participating Goodwill facilities across North Carolina. Girls will see how donations are sorted and processed, learn about Goodwill’s mission and discover how their contributions help provide opportunities for individuals and families in their communities. Can’t make it on October 17? Troops are encouraged to schedule a tour of their local Goodwill store at another time to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the organization transforms donations into opportunities for the community.
