G. Scott Paterson
G. Scott Paterson is a veteran entrepreneur, investor, and financier known for his leadership in technology, media, and capital markets. Currently, Executive Chairman of FutureVault Inc. and Chairman of QYOU Media Inc. (TSXV:QYOU), Paterson has spent over three decades building, investing in, and scaling high-growth ventures. He made his mark early in finance, starting at Dominion Securities in 1985, before rising to become Canada’s top tech investment banker at Midland Walwyn. In the media, he was the second investor in Lionsgate Entertainment and has served on its board for over 25 years. He also co-founded JumpTV, led its $71M IPO, and helped guide its evolution into NeuLion, which sold to Endeavor for $325M. He later co-founded QYOU Media, whose flagship property, The Q India, serves millions of young viewers across South Asia. Paterson co-founded FutureVault, a fintech leader in digital vault technology, and has backed numerous startups CoinSmart, Verses AI, and Authentic Web. He has held board roles for stock exchanges NYSE, TSX, NEO, AIM, and served as Chair of the Canadian Venture Exchange and Vice Chair of the TSX. Paterson has been profiled in Time, Newsweek, and Peter C. Newman's 1998 bestseller Titans: How the New Canadian Establishment Seized Power. He holds an ICD.D designation, an Entertainment Law Certificate, and is a member of ACTRA. A committed philanthropist, he co-founded the Merry Go Round Children's Foundation, now known as CoMkids, and has served on the board of Ridley College for 27 years, supporting the University of Western Ontario and other causes through leadership and funding.
