G. Scott Paterson

G. Scott Paterson is a veteran entrepreneur, investor, and financier known for his leadership in technology, media, and capital markets. Currently, Executive Chairman of FutureVault Inc., Chairman of The FUTR Corporation (TSXV:FTRC) and Chairman of QYOU Media Inc. (TSXV:QYOU), Paterson has spent over three decades building, investing in, and scaling high-growth ventures. He made his mark early in finance, starting at Dominion Securities Pitfield in 1985 before rising to become Canada’s top tech investment banker at Midland Walwyn. In the media, he was the second investor in Lionsgate Entertainment (NYSE:LION) and served on its Board of Directors for 21 years and now serves on Lionsgate Canada’s Board. He also co-founded JumpTV, led its $71M IPO, and orchestrated its merger with NeuLion, which sold to Endeavor for $325M. He later co-founded QYOU Media, a leading creator economy influencer marketing company active in the US and India via its Bombay Stock Exchange listed majority owned subsidiary Chtrbox. He co-founded and served as Board Chair of insurtech pioneer Symbility Solutions which sold to Cotality for $162 million. Paterson co-founded FutureVault, a fintech leader in digital vault technology, and has backed numerous startups CoinSmart and Authentic Web. He has held Board roles for stock exchanges NYSE, TSX, NEO, AIM, and served as Chair of the Canadian Venture Exchange and Vice Chair of the TSX. Paterson has been profiled in Time, Newsweek, and Peter C. Newman's 1998 bestseller Titans: How the New Canadian Establishment Seized Power. He holds an ICD.D designation, an Entertainment Law Certificate, and is a member of ACTRA. A committed philanthropist, he co-founded the Merry Go Round Children's Foundation, now known as ComKids, and is the longest serving Governor of Ridley College (29 years), supporting Western University and other causes through leadership and funding.
