FY26 internal Research Seed Funding and Scholarly Pursuit

The Faculty Research Committee would like to invite you to submit your application for the FY26 internal Research Seed Funding and Scholarly Pursuit competitions to support faculty efforts toward external funding and scholarship submissions. There are two opportunities available to support faculty toward external funding opportunities and scholarship. Applications are due to the Office of Research by 5 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025.

The Internal Seed Funding competition allows full time, permanent faculty members to apply for up to $10,000 per award. Funded projects must lead directly to an identified external submission.

The Scholarly Pursuit Award competition allows full time, permanent faculty members to apply for up to $5,000 per award. Funded projects must lead directly to an identified external submission or tangible scholarly output.

Award funds are planned to be available on July 1, 2025. The project must be completed by May 1, 2026. Awards are available in all disciplines.

Applications may be submitted through the submission portal link on the website between November 26th and 5 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025. Check the website or contact Stephen Greiman at sgreiman@georgiasouthern.edu for additional information.

Travel Supplements

The Office of Research offers a limited number Competitive Travel Supplements for up to $1,500 to offset the costs of research dissemination at national and international conferences. Funding is intended to focus on supporting early career pre-tenure faculty. However, applications will be accepted from tenured faculty. The winter submission deadline (For travel through June 1st 2025) is January 17, 2025 at 5pm.
