COSM Administrative Pool - Issue 37

In an effort to develop a more efficient and effective approach to providing administrative support to COSM departments, faculty, staff, and students, we have launched a new model for deploying administrative support staff in the College. The new model creates two categories of administrative support staff - department administrative staff and administrative pool staff. For faculty and staff, the department administrative staff will be your primary point of contact. As you might expect, there will likely be some obstacles and issues that are encountered as we deploy the new model. We ask for your patience and understanding as well as feedback to help ensure we provide the best support possible to the entire College.

The work assignments for both groups have been reconfigured as shown in the table below.

While department administrative staff will be dedicated to supporting an individual department or school, the administrative pool staff will provide support for the entire College. The support tasks have been split with some functions remaining in the department and others being assigned to the administrative pool. The list of tasks is a fluid, working list that will be adjusted over time as we work through the transition gaining a better understanding of the volume and complexity of the workload in this new model.

The following tasks will be completed by the COSM Administrative Pool with each task having a primary point of contact as well as a secondary point of contact who will provide backup support for the specific task.
