Inclusive Teaching Participants Reunion & Appreciation Luncheon
Date: Wednesday, April 10th
Time: 12:15- 1:15 pm
Location: Science Center, Room 2016 (Armstrong) or via Zoom
The COSM DEI Collaborative invites all participants from any of our prior Inclusive Teaching Lunch & Learn events to join us on April 10th in Science Center, Room 2016 for a reunion and appreciation luncheon sponsored by the Dean. At this event we hope faculty will share any new strategies they implemented from our sessions on Strategies of Engagement, Syllabi, Assessment, or just general Inclusive Teaching Practices while enjoying lunch and the company of your peers. As Time allows, the collaborative is also seeking input on the planning for the Spring 2025 Lunch and Learn Series, in particular, what topics are currently the most vital to student success through our teaching. Please RSVP by April 1st using this form.

Mathematics Colloquium
The Colloquium Committee would like to invite you to Dr. Xiaoxu Wu's talk on March 29 (Friday). All (especially graduate students) are welcomed! Please also share the info with anyone who may be interested. Below is the info of the talk and the speaker. Hope to see you there!
Time: March 29 (Friday), 3:30 – 4:30 PM
Location: Math/Physics Building, Room 3001, Statesboro Campus
Speaker: Dr. Xiaoxu Wu (The Fields Institute)
Title: The Three-Quasi-Particle Scattering Problem Abstract: A quasiparticle is a concept in condensed matter physics and quantum mechanics that represents the collective behavior of particles within a material, such as electrons in a solid, mimicking the properties of individual particles. In this talk, I will focus on the scattering theory for three-quasiparticle systems. Quantum scattering theory's primary objective is to classify the potential long-time behaviors of solutions to quantum systems, a concept known as asymptotic completeness (AC). During this talk, I will present a new approach to proving AC, which is based on recent collaborative research with Avy Soffer.
Short Bio: Dr. Xiaoxu Wu is currently a visiting member at the Fields Institute. She obtained her Ph.D. from Rutgers University in 2023. Her particular interests include the scattering theory, quantum information, and wave turbulence theory.
Totality: Explore The Wonder of Eclipses

This program is all about eclipses – from lunar to total solar. We cover how they occur and what happens when they do. We look back to the proof of general relativity and look forward to upcoming eclipses and where to witness them. Our production includes a variety of wonderful styles – from spectacular space environments to humorous pop-up books. A very special part of the show relates, in a very human way, what happens when you are caught in the shadow of the Moon and the Sun is plunged into a total solar eclipse. Your audience will love this program. And so will your audience of most any age.
