About the Girl Scout Bronze Award

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior (Grades 4-5) can achieve. Girls who complete their Bronze Award develop more confidence, meet new people, and have fun - all while making a difference.

Before she can start working on her Bronze Award, a Girl Scout must complete a Girl Scout Junior Leadership Journey.

When she’s ready to embark on her Bronze Award adventure, she completes the following steps:

1. Works with her Girl Scout Junior team, or on her own, to explore her community and identify an issue important to her.

2. Come up with an idea for a project that will make a sustainable impact towards the cause she has chosen.

3. Create a plan, and get that plan approved by GSCB staff.

4. Execute her project and shares it with her network of friends, family and community members. At completion of the project, each Bronze Award Girl Scout should have contributed at least 20 hours of work!

7

About the Girl Scout Silver Award

The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette (Grades 6-8) can achieve. Girls who complete their Silver Award showcase their developing leadership skills while getting organized, determined and dedicated to improving their community.

Before she can start working on her Silver Award, a Girl Scout must complete a Girl Scout Cadette Leadership Journey.

When she’s ready to dig in on her Silver Award, she completes the following steps:

1. With a small group of Cadettes or on her own, she explores her community and identifies and issue she cares about.

2. Comes up with an idea for a project that will make a positive change.

3. Creates a plan, and get that plan approved by GSCB staff.

4. Executes her project and shares it with her network of friends, family and community members. At completion of the project, each Silver Award Girl Scout should have contributed at least 50 hours of work!
