HOUSED, NOW WHAT? THE MOVE-IN KIT

VALUE: $75 PER PERSON – GOAL: 100 KITS

Imagine moving into an apartment with very few possessions. Often, people transitioning from homelessness into their permanent housing are starting over and need basic and essential items to make their apartment a home. Transition Projects’ Move-in Kits have been a part of housing people for nearly 20 years. Helping people secure – and retain – permanent housing is our mission, and we do this by placing people into rental apartments across the Portland metro area, and by operating three apartment buildings. Over the past year, we have helped more than 563 people secure housing. But our work doesn’t end there. We remain engaged, providing the follow-up services critical to successful placements and ensuring that once housed, people stay housed.
