Teddy new distribution hub is the logistics beating heart of the company, just been completed in Gatteo (FC), a few miles from Rimini, where our corporate headquarters are located. Garments will be sent from the new logistics hub to Terranova, Rinascimento and Calliope stores all over the world. The hub will be fully operation in July 2021.

Development, Sustainability and a better Customer Experience The investment made, totaling over 70 million Euros, is a strategic move for three main reasons.
Sustainability
A more performing and flexible distribution network will allow collection purchases to be managed more efficiently and effectively. This is the first step aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the entire production chain: a more efficient collection purchase and distribution network will make more efficient, and therefore more sustainable anything used to manufacture the same collections (water and energy consumption, transport, etc.).
A better customer service all over the world
The project will highlight the ability to make the right product be delivered at the right time in the stores, thus directly influencing customer satisfactio.

A customized distribution model for each brand, thanks to the flexibility the new Ce.Di in Gatteo offers, which translated into a customized service for each store.

Thanks to the speed and the logics of the new distribution hub, the strategy is to move from a “push” business model to a “pull” one, more customeroriented and inspired by customers.

A new distribution model
The new distribution hub will be much more performing than the current solutions: higher speed, more productivity, simplified processes, people fully supported in their work and focusing on strategic activities. • The parcel sorting capacity will be up to 520,000 parcels per week, compared to the current 180,000 ones. The entire central distribution will be gathered in one warehouse, where today there are three. • The new distribution model will provide for a flexible service level, customized for each store and market, thanks to state-of-the-art technology and software. • At the same time, the new distribution hub will act as an “accelerator” for many projects aimed at improving customer service increasingly more.

The warehouse Thanks to the work of over 100 people, in Gatteo there will be the best technologies in the world with reference to automation and network connection, which have been improved thanks to the skills and experience of the people who have been working for years at Teddy Logistics department and to that of our business partners, who are among the world leaders in property development and automation. The entire new distribution hub was designed to be human-friendly: technology to help people, with the opportunity for a professional growth of many collaborators. The technologies being used at the hub in Gatteo were all designed to allow people to dedicate themselves to the most strategical activities. The number of people employed at the new distribution hub will be the same.

The heart: the multishuttle, that is a completely automated shelving system through automated trays handling shipping and delivered goods. In this way it is possible to redistribute goods to the points of sale according to actual needs, thus ensuring flexibility and speed based on market needs.

Environmental sustainability
The new distribution hub was designed and built according to environmental sustainability criteria aimed at reducing or eliminating negative environmental impacts in the surrounding areas, decreasing operational costs and improving indoor air quality. • The building will be Leed Gold-certified, which is one of the leading international certification programs. The certification rates the buildings on criteria such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, and indoor environmental quality of furniture, materials and resources used. • Furthermore, the hub is equipped with a photovoltaic system with 600kw capacity, a rainwater harvesting and reuse system and an energy management system to monitor energy consumption. • Inside the building there will be locker rooms for 150 people per shift, two relax rooms, a conference room, a cafeteria with 130 seats.
