Ferragamo, Emilio Pucci, Roberto Cavalli, Ermanno Scervino, Stefano Ricci and Enrico Coveri were born in Florence between the late 1800s and the mid-1900s. From the establishment of the Gucci fashion house by Guccio Gucci in 1921, to Salvatore Ferragamo’s inventions in the field of shoemaking in 1927, to the revolutionary fashion show by Emilio Pucci, Marchese di Barsento, in 1951. Since 1967, kings and queens, tycoons and commoners, all sharing the passion for elegance and top-quality, have been knocking at Loretta Caponi’s door asking for bridal trousseaus, nightwear, children’s luxury clothing, strictly in cotton, linen or silk. The current atelier is an 850-square-meter space built out of a beautifully renovated piano shop on Via Tornabuoni. In addition to the shop, Loretta Caponi houses several workshops where customers can give their creativity free rein by browsing through the extensive selection of precious fabrics. A partire dal 1967 tra i clienti di Loretta Caponi si sono alternati regnanti e industriali, magnati e gente comune, tutti accomunati dalla passione per l’eleganza e l’altissima qualità: corredi nuziali, biancheria per la notte, corredi per bimbi, tutti rigorosamente in cotone, lino e seta. L’atelier odierno è uno spazio di oltre 850 mq, il risultato di un intervento di ristrutturazione di un vecchio deposito per pianoforti, in Via Tornabuoni. MARIO LUCA GIUSTI

The first Mario Luca Giusti shop was established downtown Florence in 2012 and spreads over one floor with a total surface of about 30 square meters. The shop’s concept is the same as at all the other brightly-lit stores of the Florentine brand known all over the world for the production of synthetic crystal tableware. The pure white interiors feature niche walls to display, as if in a museum, the brand’s colorful tableware objects and much more. The flooring is glossy, almost reflective, in the same orange nuance as the logo’s “G”. Prima boutique della Mario Luca Giusti, è stata aperta in una centralissima Firenze nel 2012 e si estende su un unico piano per una superficie di circa 30mq. Il concept è lo stesso che si ripete in tutti i luminosi punti vendita della maison fiorentina famosa nel mondo per la sua produzione di prodotti in cristallo sintetico. Un arredamento bianco puro con pareti a nicchie a mettere in mostra, proprio come fossero esposti in un museo, questi caleidoscopici oggetti per la tavola, e non solo. Il pavimento è lucido, quasi specchiante, nello stesso arancione della G del logo.

STUDIO GALLERIA ROMANELLI

Studio Galleria Romanelli is one of Europe’s oldest sculpture studios still operating today. It was founded by Lorenzo Bartolini in 1829 and then his favorite pupil, Pasquale Romanelli, took over the management and ownership of the studio. In 1860, Pasquale also started an art gallery and was the first of five generations of Romanelli sculptors to run the gallery. He was followed by his son Raffaello, then came Romano, Folco and today Raffaello carries on the family tradition. Inside the studio-gallery, the works of art look like they are about to come to life and provide a truly unique artistic experience. The studio creates pieces on commission, original sculptures, replicas in plaster, bronze and marble and restores works of art. Lo Studio Galleria Romanelli è uno dei più antichi studi di scultura in Europa. La sua storia inizia nel 1829 per mano di Lorenzo Bartolini, che ne fu il fondatore; la direzione e la proprietà dello studio passarono poi al suo allievo prediletto, Pasquale Romanelli. Nel 1860 egli fondò anche una Galleria d’arte e fu il primo di cinque generazioni di scultori Romanelli che si avvicendarono nella gestione: a lui seguirono il figlio Raffaello, poi Romano, Folco e oggi suo figlio Raffaello, che continua con la celebre attività di insegnamento.
