SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT In the Terras Gauda Group, we are aware of the value of the land. On a global level, but also because of its enormous importance in the performance of our activity: the production of unique wines, in which the origin is easily identified, bonded to the terroirs of the different grape growing regions of our wineries and with the noticeable presence of the corresponding indigenous varieties. We have different projects underway that give back part of what the land gives us. These are what are currently known as circular economy and sustainability projects. BIOVERVIT Terras Gauda is leading this sustainable viticulture project in Galicia to turn grape bagasse into high-quality organic fertilizer and biological plant protection products. Vermicompost is an organic fertilizer that improves the properties of the soil and permits the grapevine to slowly assimilate the nutrients. The winery is looking for alternatives to the use of mineral fertilizers and plant protection products in its AlbariĂąo and CaĂĂąo Blanco vineyards, which represents an important advance from both an environmental and financial perspective, as well as the optimization of natural resources.

We are collaborating on this project with the Universities of Vigo (Ecology and Animal Biology Department) and Santiago de Compostela (Analytical Chemistry Department).
