Across the world, you as vet services managers face diverse challenges, but all tread the path of rigorous fieldwork.

Through dedication, discipline, and tools like this booklet, you’re forging a path towards ‘vet services excellence’.

That’s why we will start with a brick where we highlight the importance of sharing and presenting appropriate reports in pulse meetings with your customers.

Awareness, monitoring and troubleshooting are the three main activities which shall be included in your reports to create the highest impact in your conversations.

Brick No. 4 “Vectormune ND awareness and monitoring” See below a compilation of all the information presented in the Global Veterinary Services about Vectormune® ND. The webinars are good opportunities to review our strategy and to update the knowledge about specific key topics important for all of us.

For example, here we highlighted the importance of awareness, depending on the challenge situation of the country, setting the value for Vectormune® ND implementation.

Once the lesson is reviewed, you usually need to complete a quiz to fix the concepts.

Brick No. 7 “IB Awareness: Asia Example” This brick is a good occasion to insist on awareness by describing two IB awareness experiences in Asia (Thailand and India), summarizing in one dashboard all the work done for the projects, reminding the “modus operandi” and displaying 2 methods to deliver back the results to the customer:

Brick No. 16 “Gumboro Awareness and nvIBDV reassortant strains” Awareness is not only important for respiratory diseases, but also, for example, for Gumboro disease.

Indeed, one of the key main outputs of our Global Disease Awareness Plans (2020-2022) were shifts in the IBDV populations, confirming the emergence of new variants.

The key points observed were:

1 A new variant of the virus (nvIBDV), phenotypically different and genetically reassortant, was detected, confirming the previous works of Phylaxia (Mató et al., 2020).

2 Investigations at farm level (PhD) to describe the symptoms and lesions are ongoing in collaboration with MAPS Padova, University Complutense of Madrid and Phylaxia.

3 The results will be accompanied by characterization, challenge investigations and performance analysis.

Brick No. 17 “Q&A’s about nvIBDV reassortants” The bricks are good opportunity to answer many questions raised by you. In the last brick (number 16), new variant reassortant Gumboro strains were described, therefore, we have tried to address these questions in this brick.

Serological baselines and ELISA kits These are your guidelines to understand and differentiate the effect of several vaccination programs, showing the expected seroconversion results and the kit to be used based on the implemented vaccination program (innovative, conventional or mix) and how to differentiate vaccination from field challenges.

Brick No. 1 “Newcastle serology baseline” Based on the vaccination program implemented, you can select the ELISA kit to be used and the expected titers you will get at slaughter age.

A significant differentiation is also available between Vectormune® ND and other recombinant products.

This brick also defines the max. expected titers, where we can clearly identify a field challenge.

Brick No. 3 “Gumboro serology baseline” This slide provides you with the expected seroconversion titers for different Gumboro IBD vaccination programs and how to differentiate immunity provided by the vaccine from field challenges.

Brick No. 5 “Monitoring of IBIRD/IBRON. Vaccine take and serological results” This brick aims to provide a tool for monitoring vaccine take and for serology interpretation, understanding the IBV flock situation and challenges.

This is a key factor of success for the implementation of our bronchitis vaccines.

Brick No. 6 “ILT and Vectormune® FP-LT/ vaccination quality and monitoring” ILT remains a major threat in poultry production. Most of the time live vaccination leads to outbreaks through reverse virulency of the C.E.O/T.C.O vaccine itself.

Vectormune® FP-LT is the safest vaccine providing birds with the needed immunity to control the disease without inhibiting the control of other diseases with the innovative recombinant HVT vaccines.

This brick aims to provide a tool on the specific kit to detect the ILT seroconversion provided by Vectormune® FP-LT from field challenge and highlight on ILT serological baseline to assess the flock situation.

Brick No. 23 “Cevac IBH-8K” The presence of certain Adenoviruses can compromise the immune response and reduce vaccine efficacy.

Ceva is very responsive to customer concerns and therefore we have developed for Argentina an inactivated vaccine including serotype 8b with great results in the field in breeders.

Brick No. 19 “Immunization and molting in layers” Bird molting is sometimes a common practice in commercial laying birds. Herpesvirus replication is boosted during stress phases (like molting). rHVT Ceva vaccines would fit perfectly for this, especially in immunosuppressed birds that undergo molting, representing this a competitive advantage versus live and inactivated vaccines.

Brick No. 15 “Adenovirus infection” Guidelines to investigate Fowl Adenovirus Inclusion body hepatitis (FAdV-IBH).

Brick No. 8 “Novamune®” The expected colonization of the bursa of Fabricius in layers vaccinated with Novamune® is compared to colonization by foreign vvIBDV strains in birds vaccinated with rHVT-IBD. Layers vaccinated with recombinant vaccines are not able to block the Gumboro cycle.
